Adrien: Gap skinny cords. Keep or Return?

I know the answer to this one already, but I thought I'd let you guys confirm it for me. I bought these Gap skinny cords in a fit of 40% off craziness, but once I got home and put them on I wasn't so sure. I think they're a bit too low rise and probably too tight for me to pull off. I also suspect they will stretch out and slide right down my ass. So, keep or return:

Ba-donk.

Looks...like something from the back?

(And in case you're wondering, I trotted back inside and changed my pants after this! I don't generally walk around all day in clothing I'm considering returning.)

pants: duh, Gap always skinny cords
shirt: Target Mossimo striped tee (similar)
jacket: Banana Republic (similar)
shoes: Cole Haan (similar)
bag: Marc Jacobs (similar)

  1. I don't know, I think they look pretty awesome on you. And you don't have the...erm, crotch issues you had with the pants the other day. And if I could find pants that made my butt look like THAT, I would buy every pair they had. But that's just me.

  2. I think the cords look adorable. I just think you need a longer top. I don't think they look too tight.

  3. I don't think they look too tight either. But I swear every pair of pants I get from Gap stretches out beyond belief - combine that with the low rise and you might have a problem.

  4. Oh, I like them! I am a tight-pants hussy, though.

  5. I think they look great on you.

However, I would take them back.

In the past I've found that corduroy pants don't wear well. Mine always seems to stretch out of shape after they've been washed a few times and the nap wears down where they rub and bend.

  6. They look great. I always just belt my AG cords, they do have that low rise/stretch out problem but you know what, they look fabulous.

  7. I think they look fine on you. But if you're not comfortable with them, returning them would be the best idea. Clothes that you're not crazy about tend to languish in the clost/dresser...

  8. I think they look fine - but if you aren't comfortable then it's not worth it. That's what I always tell myself.

I tried on those same pants in grey and they were much less flattering on. I wish they would have had black there because I think they would have looked less bulky. But like you said, I also found them a bit too low rise/needing to yank them up as my "athletic" thighs pulled them down.

  9. You look great but my god I'm so sick of hiking my old low-rise stretched out pants up all day long! If you think that's gonna be an issue, take em back.

  10. What did you decide? I like them.

  11. Keep, keep, keep. Seriously, they look great, I mean really great.

  12. I think they look awesome. I would have a hard time not keeping them!

  13. Ahh! You guys are making it hard for me to decide. I was definitely leaning towards returning, and now I don't know.

  14. I think they look great. I would say keep. But it sounds like you aren't really comfortable with them, so I would say will the cost per wear be worth it to you to keep them? If you pay $40 and wear them 40 times, then yes. But if you pay $40 and wear them once, probably not.

  15. Keep! I love them and I need a pair.

  16. I agree that they look good but probably need to be paired with a longer top/jacket (not too long, though--those large back pockets make the ass look great). I say if they're comfy, keep them. If they're not comfy, you won't wear them. Return.

  17. Oh, I think they look great on you! Super flattering! I would check the reviews on how they wear, though, because the chic look would be lost if they start getting baggy (as has every single pair of Gap pants I've ever owned).

  18. Thanks for all the feedback! Sadly, I think they're going back - not because of how they look, but because every time I put them on I want to immediately take them off. They just aren't that comfortable.
