So, as you can see I got my awesome man-repelling Lotta From Stockholm High Heel Peep Toe Clogs
and I dig them. They are very Euro and truly are the kind of shoes women love and men loathe but who asked that guy? He can shut up because nobody, that's who. I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on the awesome comfort of walking on a block of wood, but so far they're not causing me any pain and I love clomping around in them. |

Ha-funny you should mention the Man Repeller aspect. I wore my red Lottas (which look exactly the same as Marianne's red Hasbeens) over the weekend and my male colleague/friend sneered at them. *I* thought I looked quite fashionable, so to hell with him. Yours look great on you! And seriously, why buy Hasbeens when Lottas are the same shoe? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

ReplyDeleteHow did you figure out the sizing on those shoes? I was looking at the Amazon reviews and it sounds like the sizing is a bit odd -- any tips?
I wear an 8 pretty much always and went with a 39 in these. They are probably a *tiny* bit big, but the 38 would've been too small and they don't have half sizes. I'd say they run pretty true to Euro sizing.

DeleteI hate clogs with a passion. Always have. Just think they are ugly and clunky. I put them in the same category as Crocs and Birkenstocks. Fugly Footwear. I love your dress, however. It's almost Parisienne.
ReplyDeleteI like them...but I admit, I do like the higher heel. I have a pair of H&M HasBeen knock-offs (in orange), and my guy loves them- unfortunately they are so dreadfully uncomfortable I never wear them. But I can't get rid of them. Yet; I will get rid of them when I get a pair of Lottas...but I can't decide which color- red, tan, or blue- and of course the higher heeled ones are more expensive thereby making the choice more weighty....
ReplyDeleteI think they're cute- and you look good. I love that dress, it looks great on you, and I think you look quite pulled together, Monday or otherwise...and your hair at that length is looking pretty good, don't you think? It looks a bit fuller...nice and shiny, too.
Aw, thank you! And I agree that the Hasbeen super-high are more appealing but I assumed would be really uncomfortable. So sad to have shoes you love but can't wear.

Yes, if the arch isn't in the right place on a higher, wooden heel, it could be a recipe for disaster.
DeleteHair: Well, if you want yet another product to try (don't remember if this one came up, and we've nixed the dryer sheets as of yesterday ;)) I just bought, and have tried, and very much like (my hair is curly, longish, but it's fine, and you know what happens with fine, long curly hair...umbrella head. So I need volume at crown, temples, back of head; roots, all that). Anyway- this stuff is called
"Shea Moisture Yucca and Baobob Thickening Moisture Mist w/Biotin and Bamboo Extract for Fine, Thin Hair. Strengthen, Thicken& Volumize" There, I just gave you the whole label, lol. Anyway, it's really good. It's a superfine mist in a pump bottle, it does everything it says and DOESN'T FEEL LIKE THERE'S ANYTHING IN YOUR HAIR! Like, all of a sudden your hair is thicker, has volume...but there's no stiff stuff, no weighed down stuff, no "hold"- just feels like hair. And also importantly, smells nice- light, clean- but not like anything that's going to make you faint or get nauseous after 10 minutes. And it was only $10. (!) I used it on dry hair, and on towel dried hair. Alone or with other products. No issues,no weirdness. Slept-on and Next-day hair is normal and decent, nothing sea-monster-like and crazed. If this stuff keeps working, I am totally psyched. Anyway, my point being, then I'll stop driveling on: it'd probably be good on your hair type. :)
Well Adrien, I think they are cute on you, but I'm heavy footed enough as it is, I fear I would sound like an elephant clomping around. DH says he always hears me coming, so I do not think this would help me. :)

ReplyDeleteSwedish shoes are hardly ever made in half-sizes and it SUCKS. Nor do we get petite or tall sizes. They can all feck off.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - so. Clogs. They do look very sweet on your little feet, but my soul rejoices a little to hear that they're not that comfortable. Because I just KNEW IT. Ha.
Thought I'd pop into a shop and try on a pair one of this days.
But...they are comfortable! At least, so far. I haven't walked around in them for hours, but I wore them all day without any issues.

ReplyDeletePlease let me sort of win. I'm having that kind of week. ;) Anyway, because of you two I'm going to try them on, amn't I. I'm got a mind so open there are birds nesting between my frontal lobes, babes.
I just meant that I don't know that I buy the whole "THEY ARE THE MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES EVER" thing that a lot of people claim about clogs. But, so far they're fine. I will report back honestly after I wear them out walking.
DeleteSomeone commented about the heel size, but it didn't come through! Tuilie, if you're reading this, don't worry about it. The heel is technically almost 3" but the platform is 1" so they don't feel high at all.
ReplyDeleteLadies -real men LOVE seeing (and hearing) real wooden clogs on women. Ignore all the other comments from your male friends and significant others. They are sexy, they attract attention and I can't get enough of them on you so don't put them away and keep on wearing clogs and wooden sandals regardless of fashion trends -they always keep coming back.

If you want to know what shoes we men don't like it's simple: anything plastic, Crocs and pointy-toed shoes. Contrary to popular belief round-toed shoes are far sexier than anything pointy. Bet you didn't know that?
