Fall Beauty Wish List.

Disclosure: I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

Stuff I Like will return next Thursday when I have enough stuff to talk about. Hopefully y'all have been enjoying those entries because they're really fun to write. This week in it's place I'm going to talk about what I want for fall for my face because I'm nearly out of everything and that opens me up to trying new products.

Here are the things I'm out of or nearly out of:

Holy shit, this is going to be rough, right? Luckily I have a couple of samples coming in my next Allure Beauty Box (shush, Marianne) that I'm pretty excited about:

I love everything Kiehl's makes, pretty much, so I'm assuming I'll like this eye cream. I am not sold on Drunk Elephant but I've not tried the Whipped Cream crap yet so I'll give it a go, though I've been liking my La Roche-Posay moisturizer and will probably re-buy that either way.

I recently used my Shopspring credits (Thanks so much! You can use my link for $20 off your first purchase of $75+ plus use SPRING10 for 10% off) to buy a bottle of RMS Beauty Oil since I'm nearly out of face oil to the point that I'm basically slathering on dregs. It's pretty sad, tbh. I will probably reorder my Juno oil at some point because I still love it but the RMS oil gets good reviews and it's harvested from the Amazon jungle or some such crap. I'll definitely report back.

Okay, now foundations. I have been using two on the regular but my recent onset of rosacea (which I still need to write about) has me rethinking everything. My workday foundation is Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation which I like and have been using for years but I'm open to trying something new. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe something hydrating like this Tarte foundation or something like this mineral foundation? My Smashbox is full coverage and bullet proof but I am not sure I really need all that, if that makes sense.

The other thing I've been using on and off is Tarte Bb Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer. Despite it's ridiculous name it's just a very nice tinted sheer foundation. It works great in the summer but it's terrible on my dry winter skin so I'm looking for a nice tinted moisturizer that'll work in the winter. I know I can mix some of my regular foundation with moisturizer but what fun is that? I want to try new stuff! I might give the Sunday Riley tinted primer another shot or maybe this Dr. Jart+ stuff

Okay, this is getting too long, but if you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

  1. I also have rosacea and use Clinique Redness Solutions foundation. I tried their redness lotion, but I prefer Eucerin Redness Relief. The two together will keep the red cheeks nice and calm. At least in my case, the fewer products I use, the better off I am.

    1. Thanks! My rosacea seems to come and go, which makes it hard to know what's working or not. I'll check these out.

  2. I used to swear by that Tarte "tinted primer" but I switched to this one by Bare Minerals and haven't looked back. It has a bit more coverage than the Tarte one but it's still lightweight. Highly recommend! http://www.ulta.com/complexion-rescue-tinted-hydrating-gel-cream-broad-spectrum-spf-30?productId=xlsImpprod11771035#

    2. Seconded! Complexion Rescue is my weekend/light make-up day go to. I'm currently using UD Naked for my work foundation, and while I like it, I'll probably try something new when it's done.

  3. My absolute favorite tinted moisturizer is Laura Mercier Illuminated Tinted Moisturizer. I get compliments about my glow when I wear it. It's kind of magic.

  4. Of the drugstore brands, Bioderma's rosacea range is the only one that doesn't make it worse, but it never really made it better.

My doctor prescribed a gel called Metrogel and when I put it on twice a day, my skin evens out to normal. It's a smidge drying, but that's all.

I'll have to try the Clinique Redness Solutions foundation; I've heard good things. I wanted to buy it years ago actually, but the Clinique person tried to upsell me on the whole range and was so pushy and snide that it put me off the brand for a long while (didn't buy anything that day or since).

  5. I've got seb derm and use Dr. Jart Tiger Grass Color Treatment and it's been fantastic all summer for when I need to calm down the redness and even everything out but not want full coverage. No joke, it looks better after I've been out playing for 6-7 hours. Don't buy it from Sephora though because its waaaaay cheaper elsewhere.

  6. Which is the mineral foundation you are considering? Your link to that one just takes me to the home page, probably since I'm in Canada.
