Wanty: CINCH IT.

Okay, FINE. I want in on the big belt trend. I've been reading a fair amount of style blogs lately and I'm amazed at the difference the right belt can make. I want in because I'm a life-long belt spaz. I buy them and can't figure out how to make it look right. But now I've got a few dresses that need a good waist-cinching belt, so I've been looking around:

The Anthropologie Jigsaw belt caught my eye the last time I was browsing around. I love the clean look of it and how dark the leather is:

For cheaper non-leather options I found a few I like at Forever 21. The Double Buckle Belt:
and the Studded Twist Belt:

I also like this Stretch Double-Buckle Belt from Old Navy, though I wish it came in another color:
If money were no object, I'd buy this freaking amazing Diane von Furstenberg Deliah Studded Belt:

And I gave a sad little gasp of wantiness when I found this Linea Pelle Waist Belt with Flat Studs:

So beautiful! But way too much to spend on a belt even if I could afford it.

Adrien: Last Call for Boots.

I am a boot fanatic. If you count my riding boots and wellies, I think I have... six pairs? That number seems low. I'm probably forgetting a pair. I've still got room for more (including the Frye Veronica pair I posted last week.) At least, in my head I do.

One of my favorite pairs is my Frye Tina boots. I got them (thanks to Nina and her magical eye) at Ross for a freaking steal and I've worn the hell out of them all winter. That's why when Wednesday turned out to be a cool blustery day I took the opportunity to wear them one last time:

Goodbye sweet boots! I'll see you again in the fall.

Marianne: One last plug.

You guys, my kid is really cute.
Not only is she cute, she is sweet and fun and a complete joy.
So would you please, please go vote for Lulu in Babble's Impossibly Cute Kid Contest? She's so close to the lead and this would start a much needed college fund for her. Voting ends today! Go vote here:

Baby Sock Monkey thanks you. And so do I.

Adrien: Panic Dressing at it's finest.

I was running late today and all I knew is that I wanted to wear these amazing shoes that Marianne gave me. I was trying to wear something I haven't been photographed in but, uh, I'm running out of clothes, y'all. I didn't have time to figure out interesting accessories so please use your imagination. Anyway, you can tell I was in a rush because my pictures are all weird and pose-y:

What is that face I'm making? It's worse here:

But look how cute these shoes are:

LOVE.

Adrien: Sometimes I just like to try stuff on.

Over the weekend I stopped by my favorite (secret) Marshall's and blitzed through the clearance rack just in case. It never hurts to look. I tried on the following:

Theory blazer marked down to $39:

It fit well enough but just isn't something I feel I need in my wardrobe.

This top (I can't remember the label), which was cute except for the weird folds around the boob area:

The back was cute though:

These PDC jeans which were marked down to $10 FOR A REASON:

It's hard to see in the cruddy iPhone photo, but they're barely coming up past my thighs. And this is a size bigger than I normally wear. Defective.

I pounced on this cashmere DKNY "cozy" in red for $20 (original price $185!):

Nice, eh? But very similar to the Banana Republic version I own and never wear, so I bought it and listed it on eBay. I am sneaky like that.

Annnd, I tried on this quilted leopard print jacket because apparently I was having a Chico's kind of day:

Ha. Hahaha. You're welcome.

Marianne: Radio Silence

OMG. That's all I can say about the kind of week I am having. I have to thank Adrien to keeping up with this here blog because people, I am a wreck. Work is killing me and we are moving in a week and UGH. Too much to do and not enough hours in the day, is what I'm saying.

I've still been getting dressed every day (I know!), but I haven't had time to take pictures. These were taken as I was about to get in the car, and I think the "I'm-late-and-I-have-so-much-to-do-take-the-effing-picture" is positively RADIATING off of me.
Also, wrinkles. On the face and the clothes. DANG.
Now my husband is getting artsy just to MESS WITH ME. So late! So much to do!
My very most favorite sandals.
And my big pink bag.

Adrien: Terget Outfit of the Day.

I buy most of my work clothes at Banana Republic and the like, but for fun cheap summer stuff, nothing beats Target. I'm not quite head-to-toe Target today, but it's close:
