BUY THIS (So We Don't Have To): LOFT Flash Sale!

Reallllly good sale going on at LOFT right now! 50% off all sale styles (and other selected summer styles) with code FLASH. Plus get 2% cash back with eBates! I've been really happy with the items I've picked up at LOFT lately (especially this dress which is nearly sold out) so I'm definitely tempted by this sale. Here's what I'm particularly liking:

This top is the perfect easy thing to throw on with shorts or white jeans. Easy. Done. Adorable.

I love the detailing on the sleeves of this top! Wear it with anything and look chic as hell.

This cardigan isn't exciting, but it's lightweight and will even look cute balled up in your bag.

These are the jeans you wear if you flat out refuse to wear jorts.

"Oh, thank you! This old thing? It's just something I found in the back of my closet."

This dress is the remedy for my favorite dress only being available in xxs.

I barely wear skirts anymore but this drawstring skirt is SO tempting. I love a crazy pattern.

I got yer $15 sarong right here. I mean, damn, that is pretty. And they have more!

This is a very minimal party-in-the-back dress and will definitely get you compliments.

Pretty, sparkly, effortless summer bangles that come as a set for less than $10.

This gorgeous necklace looks like Alexis Bittar but costs $12.50. You are welcome.

Shopping Things. We Are Very Good At This.

M: So it's 92 degrees today but I'm wearing booties anyway and I want to talk about fall clothes. I have 4 things on my to-buy list, which I think is SUPER restrained of me, don't you? Actually 3 things, because my inception booties fufill my taupey-grey mid heel bootie requirement. ARE YOU READY TO HEAR THE OTHER THREE? ARE YOU SO EXCITED?

A: I am so full of excitement. Truly.

M: Okay the first is also kind of cheating, but whatever. I have on my list: Mid-Length Denim Button Front Skirt. Now, I hate skirts, as you know. But this won't get out of my head so let's do this. Anyway I was ready to start my search, then found this skirt and bought it sooooo:

M: It could be a disaster and it's final sale because I like to live dangerously.

A: I totally dig that skirt. I wanted it!

M: I think it's so cute. Reviews said to size up, and a size (or two) up was all that was left, so fingers crossed.

A: You can always eBay it if it doesn't work.

M: My next item is a cream colored silk button down. Like Equipment but with a price tag I can stomach. I'm willing to pay a little money for quality though. And it just so happens that TJ Maxx has a million of awesome options and I need your helllllllllp. Ready Set Go.

A: BAKE!

M: This one is basically perfect, though I would possibly prefer an uncovered placket:

A: Is very good! I like that a lot.

M: Vince silk tops fit me SO well, but this is white and I feel like not as versatile for fall?

https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftjmaxx.tjx.com%2Fstore%2Fjump%2Fproduct%2FSilk-Long-Sleeve-Blouse%2F1000111134%3FcolorId%3DNS1003608%26pos%3D1%3A7%26Ntt%3Dsilk%2520blouse&pid=uid9024-1592032-43

A: Definitely nice but looks summery to me.

M: I also love it in black but that's neither here nor there.

M: I keep looking at this one. I'm part "ooh cute with that denim skirt and booties" and part "Pirates of The Caribbean, Revenge Of The Moms."

A: Hey, maybe you want to be a Mommy pirate, IDK.

M: Real quick, WTF is happening with these shirt tails?

A: Eep!

M: I should probably go with the rag & bone Leroy, right?

A: The Leroy is perfect and doesn't have a super long tail which I do not understand.

M: It's insane, right?

A: I would step on it and fall backwards and sustain a nasty concussion.

M: I think the Leroy is it.

A: It's very classic. I also like the black Vince number.

M: I love it. I have the short sleeve version in navy and wear it to death.

M: Besides the fact that this is styled on a cadaver, this is giving me second thoughts:

A: Poor dead girl. She’s the same color as the shirt.

M: I can't tell if the one at TJ Maxx has the contrast cuffs and collar.

A: Oooh, duh. Yeah. Hmm.

M: LAST ITEM is a long line black vest. Which I recognize is kind of weird but look at this. Yes, right? I could probably cheap out on this one but I feel like it would show in the tailoring and fabric quality.

M: This one is basically perfect, DAMN YOU rag & bone. Probably a lil more than I want to spend:

M: This is cute, not as versatile, but super cheap:

M: This one is not bad, but I'm tall and I don't think it will be quite long enough on me to get that black column effect:

https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftjmaxx.tjx.com%2Fstore%2Fjump%2Fproduct%2FMade-In-USA-Wool-Blend-Flavio-Vest%2F1000126434%3FcolorId%3DNS1003537%26pos%3D1%3A45%26Ntt%3Dvest&pid=uid9024-1592032-43

M: A less tailored contender, more causal:

M: UGH TELL ME WHAT TO DO. UGH.

A:  I personally Do Not Vest but I see what you're going for and I think it's cute. I really love the last option a lot but I don't do a lot of tailored things so it appeals.

M: I worry the last one skews a little Eileen Fisher Chico's Kind of Day.

A: That's probably why I like it.

M: What the actual fuck:

A: It’s like an Escher drawing. Down is up! Lapel is down!

M: I know we say this a lot but it legit looks like a mistake.

A: *Pulls vest thing out of box* "Hey…um…do you think this is..."

M: "Send it to TJ Maxx, boys."

M: I stared at everything for too long and just closed the window. Good talk.

A: Would you like some gin? There's room next to me in this ditch.

M: Yes please.

Session in Progress.

L: I need some weekend sneakers and was thinking about something like these slip-ons because they seem like the sort of things a chic Parisian lady would wear to buy a baguette.

Vans Perforated Leather Slip-On Sneaker

L: But then I saw THESE.

Vans Scaled Leather Slip-On Sneaker

L: Do Parisians wear faux snakeskin?

A: Dude, I linked those last weekend! I APPROVE.

L: Ohhh!! See? Great minds. I bought these when my shoes broke on the way to work the other day and I love them, but they're not comfy weekend kick-around shoes.

Kork-Ease Michelle

L: So am debating between Parisian sneakers (I am making this up as a thing) and slouchy slip on booties:

Frye Phillip Military Back Zip

L: Though I would prefer not to spend a million dollars.

A: Oh! Ooh! Get these:

Splendid Seaside Slip On Sneakers

L: Those are good. But look, I could spend almost as much as for boots and get these and channel 1990s me!

Ash Jam Leopard Haircalf Slip On Sneakers

A: Zig-a-zig-ah. But truly, I am looking through the fancy sneaker section of Shopbop and my mouth is hanging open:

Toga Pulla Shearling Lined Sneakers

L: Why? Why does that exist? And why does it cost $700!

A: Right? Crazy. Maybe you need some nice Bensimon sneakers? They're very Frenchy:

Bensimon Lace Up Tennis Sneakers

L: Very! One of the chicest French ladies I know just wore these Converse and made them look so, so cool. I do not think I have what it takes:

Converse All Star

A: Girl, ANYONE can wear Chucks.

L: Maybe I just need better socks. I just can't make them look....natural.

A: You need very minimal socks or no socks if you can handle it.

L: And surely socks + Chucks does not = $200. I feel like this has become a therapy session, Adrien. Send me an invoice for your services?

A: Of course. I feel like we've made good progress this session.

Snow Day Shoppy.

A: Okay, so I bought that necklace from the J Crew sale and it's basically the only thing I've bought in weeks. I hate everything in my closet but I also hate winter.

M: I want that dang necklace SO BAD. And the sweatshirt. But what I need are skinny jeans. My favorite jeans are getting too big. Which yay, I guess, but also boo because jeans shopping.

7 For All Mankind at ShopStyle

A: I have those jeans too and I love them even though they slide down. Where are the magic skinny jeans that stay put?

M: My parameters: must not be stupidly expensive, must have a real waistband because no, must have a dark wash and mid-rise. Go!

A: What in the CRAP with the waist on that second pair.

A: Maybe these:

Citizens of Humanity at ShopStyle

M: I was literally JUST looking at those! These have promise, no? And they are such a good price!

A: I would buy those Joes right now if I needed jeans. I do not need jeans.

M: I literally do not have a single pair of skinny jeans that fits properly. I actually have one pair of jeans that fits well, period. The sevens fall down and my old Gap 1969 Real Skinny jeans are baggy in the knees. Did I lose knee fat?

M: ANYWAY, I also really like these but oof. Pricey:

Hudson Jeans at ShopStyle

A: I don't love the whiskering on those. I am all about the plainest jeans I can find.

M: Yeah, me too. Hudson fits me really well, though. Or they used to, before I lost all my knee fat.

A: I have only tried on weird Hudson styles I found at TJ Maxx that nobody else could wear either.

M: Well I should say this is all based on a pair that is at least 6 years old. Good jeans though!

A: I want to buy things but I don't actually have any needs. Wait, I might need this:

Alexander McQueen at ShopStyle

M: That's a need for sure.

A: No, I NEED IT. And this one for work:

Alexander McQueen at ShopStyle

M: I AGREE. LETS NOT FIGHT.

A: I also just want a bunch of things that are cashmere.

M: Yes. I eyed a cashmere throw the other day and wondered if I could pass it off as a scarf?

A: Are cashmere sheets a thing?

M: Well they SHOULD BE. I'm cold.

A: Me too. I'm a shivery poodle.

M: Is it March yet?

How about now?

Now?

A: *quietly weeping*

Marianne: Broken Promises.

Last winter I swore (SWORE!) I was not going to wear this sweater any more. This ratty, pilled, PERFECT COMFORTABLE sweater. Yet, here we are. And so, the hunt for the perfect grey tunic sweater is on. I like this LOFT one but it's maybe not long enough to wear with leggings, and I love me some leggings (sorry not sorry). This Halogen number is a contender and the price is right. And I REALLY like this one but at $200 it ain't happening. Sigh. Maybe this one from Madewell? I love that deep v-neck.

Ratty sweater paired with Zara leather sleeve jacket and leggings that I ruined by wearing them while pregnant. I just ordered some new ones, review to come! Oh yeah, and boots, because that's how we do.
And hello, adorable necklace! Like Adrien, I was gifted this necklace by sweet reader Mima at InfinEight.I layered it with a triangle necklace from GroopDealz (of course I did), and it's just the kind of necklace you end up wearing every day. Mima was kind enough to extend free shipping to all of our readers with the code LOOKSGOOD if you'd like to get yourself something from her shop!

Ooh, this picture reminds me that I need to tell you about my new foundation, because it makes me look airbrushed. Next time!

Adrien: Leopard Flats. Let's Do This.

I have a pair of leopard flats from Banana Republic that I bought three years ago and I have worn them to death even though they never really broke in. Now they're kind of ratty and the ponyhair has worn off in places so my shoes have bald spots. Bald spots!  If that's not a reason for replacement I don't know what is. Here are the options I'm considering:

This pair of Gap Pointy leopard flats has me pretty excited even though I know better. I mean, they are clearly going to destroy my feet! Who here hasn't had their heart broken by Gap footwear? If you raised your hand you're a liar, sorry. I know they're going to be the worst but I still have hope in my heart that they might be magical.

This pair of Corso Como Mirage ballet flats might be a good "better than the Gap" option. They're a little spendy but CC has special little gel pads built in for comfort, which appeals, and they're well made.

The pattern on the MICHAEL Michael Kors Paxton calf hair flat is maybe the best. Crisp and defined with a funky gold toe...that I'm not sure I can pull off. They're also more than I prefer to spend on flats, but if they fit perfectly, might be worth it.

The Kate Spade New York Grenada pointed toe flat  skews slightly more preppy than I generally prefer but something about the funky print paired with tassels 'n shit just kind of works for me? Maybe. And, while I'm sure the quality is great, I still ain't paying that. They'd need to be on major sale.

These are the flats I would buy if money were no object, the Valentino Garavani 'Rockstud' ballet flat. Now, obviously my dumb square feet would ooze over the ridiculously low sides like biscuits out of a busted can but oh my god, I love the studs. LOOoooooOooooveeee them. Can't help it.
