BUY THIS (So We Don't Have To): More TJ Maxx Finds.

Okay, so Nina sent me a really great deal she found on the TJ Maxx website - a women's MBMJ watch that was super cute and it sold out before I could post it and now I'm mad. I mean, there's some other good stuff that I will share with you but that was a really damn good deal.

Now, we shall forget about the deal we missed and concentrate on this cute MBMJ Fergus watch, though it's a bit more expensive:

Cute right? And it comes in four colors! I personally like the rose gold/grey combo quite a bit. There's also a really good chunky MBMJ men's watch (which I would totally wear myself) for under $50:

Oh hey, did you know there's a new beauty section on the TJM website? It's mostly what you'd find in the store but they also have some decent discounts on Mason Pearson brushes. I don't need a fancy brush because my hair is pathetic, but maybe one of you really love them?

I found the Handy Bristle BrushPopular Mixture Bristle Nylon BrushDetangler Nylon Hair BrushSensitive Boar Bristle Brush, and the Pocket Mixture Bristle Brush. Go crazy, long hairs.

Finally, I didn't find much in the jewelry department that moved me (though I do think this weird horn necklace is oddly compelling) but this delicate asymmetrical Gorjana initial necklace is awfully pretty and under $15:

The catch is that they don't have the whole alphabet, but there's also a ring and a bracelet version. And now I'm mad there's no A available because of course there isn't. Hmph.

Sequined Joggers: Full Circle.

A: I have closed out, like, six online shopping cart windows today.

M: Yeah just 🙅

A: The deals are so good but I don’t NEED any of it.

M: Nope.

A: I have to keep reminding myself that I’m actually trying to get rid of stuff, not get more stuff.

M: Right and no, no you don't need sequined joggers, you really don't.

A: Shit. I do, though.

M: I do too.

A: Why. For where.

M: For...a Christmas party...?

A: A Christmas party I throw myself. Just me and the bourbon and the cookies.

M: And your fancy, fancy sweatpants.

A: I love this idea.

M: Pair with your favorite gin sweater and Uggs!

M: Party on.

A: But seriously, where do I get sequined joggers.

M: Better question is where DON'T you.

A: HOLY shit:

M: So many.

M: But Shana is to blame.

A: Those are so cute on her.

A: I want the Target pair. Who am I?

M: That Target pair will make you cry like it's Election night.

A: Too soon, Marianne.

M: 😭😭😭

A: Do you think I can wear sequined joggers to work?

M: "Work"

A: So, no.

A: I can just seriously think of MANY ways sequined joggers can fit into my everyday wardrobe:  Lounge. Party lounge. Pre-gym. Post-gym. Pre-race. Post-race. Podium pics. Liquor store run. Target run. They just make everything fancier.

M: Pre-lounge.

A: Yes.

A: Actually, probably not for Lounge because sequins aren’t comfortable.

M: Chafe city.

A: So festive, so poke-y.

…Later…

M: I leave for Mexico soon!

A: Mexico? How did I not know about this?

M: Chris's best friend’s wedding.

A: Oh, how nice to be able to get away!

M: I'm looking forward to it.

A: Yay. What are you going to wear to the wedding?

M: No idea. A sack.

A: SEQUINED JOGGERS.

M: Duh

A: If not in Mexico, where.

M: Sand + sequins

A: ✨✨✨✨✨✨

Adrien: Cyber Monday Is Still Monday.

And, it's Monday again. I had a really nice super-long Thanksgiving weekend and was pretty lazy about blog stuff. Today I could compile a really crazy list of Cyber Monday sale specials for you but I'm guessing you're already hyperventilating from the eleventy million sale emails you woke up to, so here's what I'll do. If there's a sale associated with something I'm wearing or writing about, I'll tell you about it in a little list at the bottom. Whee. Okay, this is from last week:

This is my new LOFT blouse and I've worn it three times since I bought it, which means it was a solid purchase. Comfortable, washable, freaking adorable. This style also comes in a variety of solid colors and a squirrel print. Squirrel print! I should just buy that already. My cardigan is a pretty basic style from Banana Republic that's nearly sold out but this one is pretty similar and claims to have beading. There's also this one which is fine too. Way to be just kind of okay, Banana.

Here I am staring at my shoes, I guess? (I'll talk about those in a minute.) My jeans are Madewell high-rise coated skinnies and I know I keep raving about them but I just wear them ALL THE TIME now. They're the greatest. And crap they are out of stock (except one size in tall) and I AM SORRY. The regular high rise skinny jeans are great and I'm sure the coated will come back. In the meantime, this Pilco pair is pretty cute with the laced sides, right? And H&M has a pair under $40! On to details:

My bag is an old Andrea Brueckner that I bought on eBay. They're hard to find now and I'm glad I held onto this one. It reminds of me a Mulberry Bayswater though this Botkier Valentina Satchel is also a good similar style!

And finally, my clogs. They're Lotta From Stockholm high t-bar clogs in aubergine and you can get them on eBay or direct from Lotta. They have a new version with black wood soles, which I like a lot. Like, a LOT. Too bad.

My Very Incomplete Cyber Monday Sale List:

Anthropologie: Extra 30% OFF sale items & free ship 150+ with code STACKS. (1% cash back w/eBates)

Banana Republic: 50% off everything (added automatically) with no exclusions. (10% cash back w/eBates)

H&M: 20% off your order of $30+ with code 5144. 25% off your order of $50+ with code 0275.
30% off your order of $100+ with code 8284.

LOFT: Free shipping and 50% off everything with code CYBERMONDAY. (6% cash back w/eBates)

Lotta From Stockholm: 15% off everything with code BLACKFRIDAY16.

Madewell: Extra 25% off your entire purchase with code CYBERMONDAY. (4.5% cash back w/eBates)

Need Supply: Extra 25% off In-Store and Online with code CYBERMONDAY. (2.5% cash back w/eBates)

6PM: Extra 15% off your order with code CYBERMON (Great for House of Harlow and Giles & Brother deals!)

eBates: I've included eBates cash back info for each and here's a list of 600 stores that are giving double cash back today!

Weekend Window Shopping: Anthropologie Sale!

There are obviously a ton of sales this weekend, so I just picked one to focus on because it's pretty dang good. Right now Anthropologie is offering 30% off everything with code LETSGO, plus an eye-rolling 1% cash back from eBates! Whee! There's so much dreamy stuff at Anthro right now, including some really good beauty brands and the usual wonderful holiday ornaments. And this stuff which I would personally like to have in my life:

BUY THIS (Because I Already Did): Thanksgiving Pants.

I bought these Gap Zip Pocket Joggers last month and even though they're not, like, the most flattering pair of of pants I own, they have become the MVP of loungewear around here. When they're in the laundry pile I'm pissed off about it, is what I'm saying. They're basically everything you want in a lounge pant and would be totally perfect for hanging out on the couch after eating too much pie. Plus, they have zippered pockets to hold your Chapstick or Xanax or whatever else you need to get you through the holiday.

And! Because no way should you spend $50 on glorified sweatpants, everything is 50% off right now with code TGIF50 plus 6% cash back with eBates! Get you some Thanksgiving Pants. Also, while you're there, these boots are awfully cute.

Lazy Beauty Reviews: Stuff I Ordered From Sephora.

A few weeks ago Sephora had it's big VIB 20% off sale and I spent way too much time trying to figure out what to buy, like that is some kind of amazing discount. I mean, yeah, 20% is pretty lame but it's so rare that Sephora gives you any kind of discount that I lose perspective. I did place a decently hefty order, mostly to restock products I already use: Sunday Riley Juno oil and Bumble and bumble Straight Blow Dry. Good stuff. I also had a ton of points so I got a bunch of free crap that I'll tell you about in another entry. Exciting, I know.

But! I want to tell you about a few of the new things I bought. For blog science. First, I decided to stray from my beloved Benetint and try something new, as recommended by Kim France:

Perricone MD No Blush Blush. I've only used it once but it does indeed give your cheeks a very natural pinky-peach blush. It goes on really smoothly and doesn't look like makeup but I can't report back on it's staying power as yet. So far I'm happy with it and a little goes a long way so I expect it'll last for a while.

Next I finally sucked it up and bought a bottle of the Burberry Fresh Glow:

I had a deluxe sample of this (reviewed here) and absolutely loved it but it's expensive so I decided to wait until I could get it at a discount. It works as a primer and as a mix-in and it gives a lovely glow without making you look like a sparkly disco ball vampire. Also, the packaging is INTENSE. It's like a little architectural sculpture for your bathroom. So fancy.

Finally, I bought some holiday scented candles by NEST:

I got the Birchwood Pine and the Holiday votives and they both smell amazing. This is high praise from me because I am super, super picky about scented things. (I'm currently very annoyed because one of my neighbors has passively-aggressively made the entire apartment building smell like poison cookies with one of those rancid plug-in oil thingys. She plugged it in the outlet outside her front door. What even.)

ANYWAY, I am picky about candles and scented things and these NEST candles totally pass my test with flying colors. The Birchwood Pine smells like a Christmas tree and the Holiday candle just smells like HOLIDAY. It's all fruit and spice and a bit of vanilla. The votives come in very cute ornament packaging and would indeed make great gifts.  Oh, and Saks has a really nice set of all the NEST holiday candles in votive size! That looks so nice. Dammit.

Adrien: This Old Thing.

I have some things in my closet that have been there for years that I should probably reconsider but eh, the things that make the cut year after year are there for a reason. This dress is one of those things:

It's BCBG and I've worn it quite a bit on the blog. I like BCBG day dresses for their crazy prints and easy washability. This blue print wrap dress is really vibrant and pretty and this kimono style print dress is a bit crazy, but in a fun way. And this paisley print dress isn't for everyone, but for the right person? Amazing.

Oh, and maybe you want a little snakeskin dress of your very own? I've found some great one-off selections. This French Connection dress (size 2) is gorgeous, this Cut25 dress (XS, M) is just super cool, this Hale Bob dress (M) is really interesting and wearable and this Julia Jordan sheath (size 14) is both snakey and work appropriate.

Over my dress I'm wearing my favorite old knit tuxedo jacket from the Gap, though I've been wanting an upgraded version for awhile. Banana Republic currently has a tuxedo blazer that I've got my eye on and J.Crew has a nice one as well but it needs to go on sale. Like, a lot on sale. And hey, if you want an inexpensive version, check out this one at H&M!  Details:

I'm wearing an Alexis Bittar cocktail ring (similar to this one but not as amazing as this one), my encrusted Giles & Brother cortina bracelet and a funky chain pendant from Banana

My blue MBMJ Globetrotter Kirsten bag got so much love on IG recently! It's a really fun bag and every now and then one pops up on eBay.  In the meantime, this MJ Recruit hobo would make a great substitute and this NM bag is an under-$30 dead ringer

Boots! These are my Vince Camuto ankle boots that are a knockoff of Rag & Bone Newburys. My pair is sold out but the VC Helyn style looks very similar and they're on sale! Just saying.

Weekend Window Shopping: A Touch of The Blues.

Sometimes you just need things that are really, really blue:

Cute Boy Friday: The Durrells in Corfu

I've been struggling a bit with Cute Boy Friday because cute boys have been a bit thin on the ground lately and I've not been inspired. Then I started watching The Durrells in Corfu.

Are you watching this? I've always loved the books and was really happy when I heard this was coming to Masterpiece. And it's totally great - just the kind of thing I like to watch on a Sunday night with a glass of wine or two and, as it turns out, it's chock full of cute boys. Yay!

First, and most obvious, we have the brooding Swedish farmer, Sven:

He is kind of a pain in the ass but he's very tall and takes his shirt off a lot. I appreciate this deeply.

Also, hiiiii:

Next, I have to give a hearty shout-out to super-helpful neighbor Spiros, who is a favorite character of mine and also quite my type:

You might be thinking, "Adrien, really?" and I would respond, "YES REALLY" because:

Right? Right. Finally, I should mention the doctor-poet Theodore who is also a stealthily hot dude:

Just adorable and and smart and very into nature and stuff. And also happens to look like this:

I LIKE NATURE TOO JUST SAYING. For the younger set there are two annoying and petulant young men and any number of adorable young Greek love interests but you'll just have to watch it and see for yourself.

BUY THIS (So We Don't Have To): Barneys Warehouse, Part Two!

Oh, you thought I was finished with Barneys Warehouse? NOPE. Sorry. I found a few more bargains to share. I'm a little obsessed with Miansai jewelry (of which I own none, but I covet Marianne's screw cuff bracelet) and I found a whole section of Miansai jewelry that's an extra 40% off! Eep.

I love the architectural sleekness of these Miansai Modern Flat Small Hoops! They retail for $49 but are $29.40 with the discount.

And I am crazy about this Miansai Reeve Cuff Bracelet. It makes me sigh sadly. It retails for $185 but here it's $83.40. SIGH.

If Miansai isn't your style, what about this super cute Rebecca Minkoff horseshoe-charm necklace:

https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=523048198&pid=uid9024-1592032-43

It retails for $78 but with the discount is $29.40! I also think this delicate little Jules Smith Crystal-Embellished Wire Cuff is awfully pretty:

https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=523261385&pid=uid9024-1592032-43

Retails for $60 but $23.40 with the discount! There, see? I just did your holiday shopping for you. You're welcome.

Your Moment of Rage.

And, your Moment of Rage

M: Step one: be, you know, a model.

A: Literally everything about that article makes me angry.

M: Those people are the worst.

A: They are awful.

"The two, who met in the most classically French way possible (at a Carine Roitfeld–hosted party more than a year ago)..."

A: SHUT UP SHUT UPPPPP SHUT UPPPPPPPPP.

M: BARF

A: Just the title alone. BRB going to burn everything.

Review: LOFT Blouses.

As I mentioned in my post last Friday, I did actually order a few things from the LOFT sale. I was feeling a severe lack of fun blouses in my wardrobe so that's what I went for, though I didn't really realize until later that I'd ordered the same blouse in two different colorways. Oops. Anyway, we'll ignore whatever weird thing my bangs are doing and start with this one:

This is the Utility Blouse in purple moon. I really loved this color especially but it also comes in a bunch of other colors and patterns, including a squirrel print! I'm generally fond of utility-style blouses which is great because LOFT really likes utility. Like, a lot.

I'm wearing the small and it fits pretty well. I am also twitching because I wish I'd unbuttoned that second button but too late now. It's currently on sale (but is final sale in this color, so be warned.) Guess that means I'm keeping it!  I also got the Midnight Vine Utility Blouse:

This one is exactly the same as the first one but it's a bit more of a mulberry color and has a really cute print. The sleeves are too long on me but most sleeves are, so I just deal.

Isn't the print cute? The orange bits are brighter IRL. I'm actually wearing it today and it's making me happy. I'll post an outfit soon! The Midnight Vine blouse a good one and a nice shot of color for fall/winter. Okay, the last one is my big question mark:

This is the Blossom Mixed Media Lantern Blouse. It is very...sleeve-heavy. Like, there is a LOT of sleeve going on here with the lantern sleeve. LOFT is really into it but I'm not sure I am. Also, I worry that the tiny print looks like 1980's wallpaper, but maybe I'm just being ridiculous. I like that it's easy and flowy and has a split neck:

But see how the lantern sleeves are much fuller from the elbow down? Is this leaning too "1980s Wallpaper Goes to the Ren Faire" or what?  Heh:

I don't even remember taking that. In it's defense I will say the Blossom Mixed Media Lantern Blouse fits well and, while the back looks identical, it's actually made of a soft knit so it's really, really comfortable. Keep or return? What say you?

If I have somehow managed to tempt you at all, LOFT is currently giving an extra 40% off all tops right now, are there are a few I kind of wish I'd ordered, like this Shadow Floral blouse (it could go either way, right?) and this Deco Blossom Modern Henley. Yay for crazy prints!

BUY THIS (So We Don't Have To): Barneys Warehouse Best Sale Ever. Run!

YOU GUYS. Barneys Warehouse. STAT. This is The Best Sale Ever. They're offering an extra 40-50% off sale stuff (plus 3% cash back with eBates) and there are quite a few MBMJ bags! Here are a few of the really good deals:

Remember this little nugget? The MBMJ Totally Turnlock Shifty Duffel is $114.50 with the discount. OMG. OMG. And! This Metropolitote tote (which also comes in a black/white version):

It is $64.50. SIXTY FOUR FIFTY. YOU GUYS. I'm freaking out a tiny bit. Like, please buy this stuff so it's not weighing on my bargain-loving soul. There's also this little New Q Legend Small Satchel:

Not quite as exciting at $155 but still a screamingly good deal. There are obviously lots of non-MBMJ bags included in this sale and shoes and clothes (OMG AGAIN) but I figured I'd start here. Have fun!

Adrien: Fall Uniform.

Hi hi hi. I'm back with another "this is my uniform" weekend outfit but really, this is what I'd wear pretty much every single day if I could get away with it:

I'm wearing my Everlane Heavyweight Tee which is probably not the most flattering thing I own but oh man, I love it so much. It's got that good Breton shape and is heavy enough that it's more like a light sweater than a t-shirt. I really want another one and I'm thinking the grey/black colorway? It reminds me of this Boden top that I wanted but missed out on. My jeans are Fidelity Sola skinnies and they've been a great purchase. I wear these and my Madewell coated jeans the most. They just fit so well.

It was not very warm on Saturday so I added a scarf and my Madewell Beckett jacket, which I never show in it's zipped up state, so here you go. I mean, the (faux) leather trim just makes it, right? This Etienne Marcel jacket has similar cool details but is more than I'd spend. I honestly just love the Madewell Fleet jacket. It's streamlined but still really cool. I mean, the dark metal colorway? That is it.

On to details!

My usual Cluse rose gold watch and a necklace made by Eliza Spell, who also happens to be the sister of my close friend Ashley. Eliza also owns a really amazing jewelry shop in town called Nine Roses that makes me want All The Things. Be warned.

This bag, you guys. I'm sorry I can't seem to stop using it but it's just good. This deep blue version on eBay is a decent deal and this is a very fair price for a NWT in black*.  If I were to lose my mind and buy a new Marc Jacobs hobo, it would be this one. So pretty! But... I like to eat so my bargain pick is this surprisingly sleek hobo at Kohls

My scarf! This is from Ann Taylor from several years ago. I also have a skirt in this print and another scarf in the red leopard version. They currently have this cheetah print scarf which I think is awfully pretty but this one at Mango looks a lot more like mine.

Finally, my chelsea boots. These are from Madewell and I love them and highly recommend. Comfortable right out of the box! They're nearly gone on the Madewell site but Shopbop has a few sizes left. Though really, there are so many good chelsea boot options out there. I want most of them.

*As always when I suggest eBay items, please contact the sellers with questions and do your research! I can't guarantee these things.
