Adrien: This Really, Really Old Thing.

This dress is not my favorite but you'd think it was considering how often I wear it. It's been making appearances on LGFTB since the beginning of blog time, which means I've been wearing this odd little snakeskin print BCBG dress for five damn years. I mean. It's not even that good! It's not terribly flattering, the rear view is...odd. And yet? It's probably the easiest dress I own. It's washable, comfortable, goes with almost everything. I wear it A LOT so clearly something is working in it's favor.

BCBG is really the best for this sort of dress. This one has a snakeskin print! Hee.

I thought I'd liven it up by throwing a sad old cardigan over it. (Truly, if Banana Republic still made this cardigan I'd buy it in ALL THE COLORS because I love it so much.) I'd say this one is similar but...is it me or do those photos show everything but the cardigan? Suspect...

One nice thing about this dress is that it really works best with bold accessories. I highly recommend a giant tassel necklace. My bag is vintage LV but I think this red satchel is really damn fine.

If you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time, here are a bunch of times I wore this dress on the blog. God, my hair.

Adrien: Autumn Wish List.

Blarg. Autumn. Everyone's favorite season but mine. I'm a summer person who loves the sunny, humid weather everyone else hates. But, I do like fall clothes quite a bit. The color palette is more my speed and I sure do like boots a whole lot. So, thinking towards fall, here's what I'd like:

A wine/oxblood bag.

Vince Camuto Sloan Satchel
I want something in a not-quite-purple, not-quite-brown color. Probably a satchel? I'll most likely go to eBay but ooh, this little nugget is my dream.

Straight leg jeans.

7 For All Mankind Kimmie
I have a lot of jeans but I am lacking that one go-to pair of straight legs that I can wear with everything. Not a skinny jean, just a straight leg style that fits perfectly.

Something moto.

BR Sloan-Fit Moto Pant
I straight up already bought these pants, so yeah. This is something I can cross off the list already.

Something with leather (or faux leather) trim.

Faux-Leather Trim Open Cardigan
Uh, yeah, so I bought this cardigan and the faux-leather pencil skirt because the Banana Republic deals were too good to pass up. I'm not sure if I'll keep the skirt, but I dig it.

Cognac tall boots.

Loeffler Randall Matilde
My heart wants another pair of Matildes but that's going to be an eBay purchase if I can find them because they're way too expensive new. I'm also fond (naturally) of this ridiculously expensive pair of Frye boots.

Chie Mihara shoes.

Chie Mihara Fix
This is a big one and might be an either/or with the cognac boots. I have several pair of Chies that I love and adore and have worn the hell out of. They're so good and so GD expensive. Luckily I've been unmoved by the past few collections, but this fall they have a couple of styles that are beautiful.

J.Crew Downtown Field Jacket.

Downtown Field Jacket
I already have one in olive that I love and now I want one in black. Do I need two? Absolutely not. Do I want two? Absolutely yes. I'm not sure if I'll actually go for this, but it's tempting.

Review: Tinted Lip Balm Showdown.

Hey, remember when I posted about being completely over paying $22.50 for a tinted lip balm that wasn't even that great to begin with? Still so annoyed! With this in mind and in the interest of science I spent some time last night wandering around the makeup section of Target checking out tinted lip balms. I was overwhelmed by how many alternatives there are now and naturally I forgot to write down your recommendations (worst blogger ever!), so I blindly bought these three based on not much:

Here are my reviews, including some horrifying and fluorescently-lit photos of me wearing each color:

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia
This color looks like a deep red with brown tones in the tube but is very sheer on the lips. It's probably the closest to the Fresh Sugar Plum balm and is the perfect no-makeup tinted balm. It has no discernible scent and is very moisturizing without being waxy. It also came in really cute packaging - a little cardboard tube thing. This is perfect for applying without a mirror.

Burts Bees Red Dahlia

Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies in 2 Cute
This is a medium reddish pink color, with shimmer. It's kind of big, which makes application a bit tricky and has a slightly sickening Jolly Rancher scent. The color is decent and a bit brighter than I was expecting. It feels okay on the lips, but I don't love it. The name is dumb and the packaging is pretty ugly, but I am not the target market, so I shouldn't complain about that.

Covergirl 2 Cute

Revlon Color Burst Balm Stain in Crush
I really like this one! Crush is a dark berry color and It has best color payoff of the three. It's very pigmented and is definitely a stain with good lasting power. It smells inoffensively minty and feels good on the lips. It's not great for car application though - definitely requires a mirror and precision. I think someone also recommended Smitten (which I know Marianne likes too) so I'll probably buy that one soon.

Revlon Crush

The best part is that I bought all three of these for about the same amount as one tube of the Fresh Sugar Plum. Suck it, Fresh. Have you tried any of these? What did I forget to mention?

Ooooohhhh.

Mr and Mrs Completely Insufferable.

A: I didn't realize you hated Angelina Jolie the way I do! I am so HATEFULLY HATEY OVER THE WEDDING. HAAAAATE.

L: Personally, I think everything that they do publicly - buy a house, get another baby, PUBLISH THEIR WEDDING PHOTOS - is a deliberate eff you to Jen.

A: Butbutbut, Brad is the cheater! HE is the one that cheated on her with Angelina! WHY does everyone love them so much? I think Jen totally traded up with Justin Theroux. He is smoking.

L: I know!! He should show SOME level of couth!

A: Brad just strikes me as not very smart. I think Angelina jinxed him or something. Meanwhile:

Woof.

L: I am very conflicted because I feel like I might like Brad were it not for what he's done to Jen. I mean, Fight Club Brad Pitt in a pink robe? It's like he knows my Achilles Heel.

L: Though that Justin ain't lookin' bad. Not. At. All.

A: I actually loved Brad in Ocean's Eleven but I can't forgive him for being the world's biggest douchebag to his ex.

L: And like the IMMEDIATE family, when you know just know that he and Jen had a plan and a whole career-timing thing and *poof*! Gone.

A: Yeah, it was creepy. Also creepy: the Uterus Watch that Jen's been living under for years. You know what? It's really okay to not have kids these days and I wish they'd all leave her alone.

L: It is *very* ok! Especially with all that celeb money and vacation time? Are you kidding me? It's like they are wondering if she could POSSIBLY be satisfied with that life which is just beyond silly.

A: It must be so so sad, all those tropical vacations with her smoking hot man. How does she fill the days.

L: She probably cries all her tears right onto her daily-massage-therapist's shoulders.

A: Poor, poor Jen.

L: I feel for her.

A: *sad tear*
