Marianne: Everly Grey Maternity Dress

You back? Okay, now on to this outfit...

Oh lord. I took these photos at the end of a long work day, instead of in the morning as usual, and I really need to start touching up my makeup mid-day. At least I can assure you that in this case, I felt even more tired than I look here. I'm wearing an Everly Grey maternity dress and it is awfully cute, but too big on top. My solution? Belt it of course.

Listen, YOU try and tell Lulu she can't be in your photos. Try it.

I love the colors and neckline of this dress, even if it is kind of shiny. I got lots of compliments. You want to see it unbelted? Okay, fine.

It doesn't look too big in this picture, but trust me. Without the belt holding it in place the neckline shifted and showed my bra. It was not cute.

Yep, still trying to decide on these booties. They are growing on me, even though they are definitely about a half size too big. They are ridiculously comfortable and I get loads of compliments on them.

And yeah, totally getting upstaged here. Do you mind, Lu?

I think I like them better with the opaque black tights. What say you?

I know it's a little obnoxious, this post. I hope it won't run you off. But the kiddo put together her outfit and then ran to my photo place and I CANNOT DENY THIS FACE.

Marianne: Rainbow Party.

As I mentioned yesterday, it was my birthday last week. Which means it was also Lulu's birthday (did you know we have the same birthday?). Which meant throwing a Rainbow Party for my favorite two-year-old. What did I wear? I'll give you one guess.

When I got home from work, I wanted to change into yoga pants, so I quickly set up my camera to fire off a couple of outfit shots right away. I fiddled with the camera to try and get the settings right, turned around, and saw this:

She said "Take mah pikcha!" And then I died. She stayed right there the whole time.

And yeah, I should probably apologize for wearing this dang jacket again. Didn't I say that I really, really needed it? I promise I'll take a break tomorrow.

I overslept this morning, hence the hastily done hair and the scarf I blindly grabbed. I thought it worked in a "pattern mixing" kind of way...but now I'm not as sure. What do you think?

Marianne: Baby Style, Pony Edition

Let's face it, my kid is better dressed than I am, most of the time. Her clothes are a lot more fun and I never have to worry about things not being flattering or fitting well.

For a recent "Princesses and Ponies" party, I went with a fluffy, full skirt in a wild print and contrasted with striped legwarmers. She's the princess of funky town, mixing patterns in a way that would make anthropologie jealous.

Me? I was dressed for the (rainy, soggy) elements. But this day was not about me.
