Wanty: Adrien's Fall Wish List.

Disclosure: I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

I AM REALLY WANTY YOU GUYS. I want so much but also want stuff I can't seem to find. Like, I want things that either don't exist or that I can't afford. It's hard being me. I do have a wish list for fall and a vision! I have a vision. Sort of. Mostly my vision is leaning towards a more minimal look - skinny pants/jeans, short boots, a fair amount of black over crazy patterns. But, something about a minimal look apparently makes me want All The Things so clearly I'm doing this wrong. ANYWAY:

1. Flats
I think I mentioned this recently, but I have three pairs of flats and they're all nearly dead. I'd like to replace my leopard pair, possibly with these:

Or, maybe I move on from leopard and go for snakeskin instead:

Both are appealing but flats always come down to fit for me, so it's a lot of trial and error. I'd also like to get a pair of metallic flats and I love the color of this new pair at Madewell:

But I'm really not sure about the shape. They're maybe cut a bit too high? I like some toe cleavage.

2. Boots
I DO NOT NEED BOOTS. But...I always want boots and I wear boots a lot in the winter. Possibilities:

Or...

I have a similar pair of black Madewell boots with the 2" heel and I love them, so another pair seems like a good possibility. (If I get metallic boots do I need metallic flats? Probably not.)

3. Sneakers
I also don't need sneakers and still love the Nikes I bought last winter but this pair of olive suede Pumas keep calling my name:

I've tried them on a few times and just can't quite justify them since I need dress shoes more but it might eventually happen. (If I get olive suede boots do I need olive suede sneakers? I am losing my mind.)

4. Sweaters
I have a couple of Everlane cashmere v-neck sweaters (light grey and charcoal) and wear them a ton. Another one in black seems like it might be a worthy purchase:

Too boring? Maybe. But really, a good cashmere sweater is basically the best thing on earth.

5. A Satchel/Tote
I don't actually need a bag and probably won't buy one this fall but there are so many nice satchels up in my face and it's hard to not feel wanty about it. Like, hiiiii there:

It also comes in black and camel. Wah.  I'm basically torturing myself.

6. Tuxedo Jacket
Speaking of TJ Maxx, this tuxedo jacket popped up and I can't stop looking at it:

I have a really old one from Gap that I should probably replace but I'm so hesitant to pull the trigger for some reason. Would I wear it enough to justify the cost?

Other things I want: dark wash skinny jeans, a casual blouse (sans ruffles or stupid sleeves), a leather jacket, the budget to buy all these things. Ha. Sob.

Review: Everlane Stretch Ponte Crop Pant.

Disclosure: I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

I got some pants from Everlane! I totally did. I haven't gotten the jeans yet - those are supposed to arrive today and I fully expect them to disappoint me. Heh.

Today I'm going to review the Everlane Stretch Ponte Crop Pant which is completely Marianne's fault. She got the regular version and (months after buying them) actually wore them and discovered that they're really good. Of course I ordered a pair and I chose the crop version because I thought they might work better with boots. I'm not sure if this was the right move, but maybe y'all can help:

I ordered my usual size 6 and they fit fine. These are tight-fitting but the material is good and thick - they're definitely pants, not leggings. Oh! And they have a center seam/crease that's impossible to see in the photos and doesn't seem to show up in Everlane's product photos either. I was surprised by it but eventually decided it made the pants look more tailored.

Pretty much immediately I wished I'd just ordered the regular length because the crop hit higher than I want them to and they bunch up a little on my calves (but they do that on the model too? Just the nature of tight pants I guess.) On the whole, though, I REALLY like them. They're crazy comfortable and I love the big side zipper and plain waistband. The more I wore them around the house, the more comfortable they felt. Detail shots:

I will not be tucking anything into these but I appreciate the lack of buttons and slash pockets. Instead it's just the perfect smooth foundation for my blousy tops to float over. I also love the retro-ish detail of the big side zipper:

This is what they look like with my favorite Madewell boots (mine are from last year) and I kinda wish they were slightly longer. Should I buy the regular length or just keep these?

I'm clearly overthinking this! Anyway, this is my Everlane link if you feel so compelled and I'll be posting my Everlane denim review later in the week. Now, onto details about the rest of my outfit:

My striped shirt is by Grana (this link gets you 10% off your first order) and I love it so much I have it in two colors! It looks like they still have it in stock in a few colors. I am pretty crazy for a striped shirt and it's everything I can do to not order this one from Everlane or this one from AllSaints. But oh my God can we just stop with this nonsense? PS. This breton dress! So good.

My necklace is from Banana Republic and, while they don't have anything similar in a pendant I do really love this tiered necklace made from the same kind of chain.

I carry my MBMJ Too Hot To Handle Hobo a lot but it's a real workhorse for me. There are still several colors available at Nordstrom Rack so get one while you can. My shoes are a very old pair of Chie Mihara but they still make a really cute red mary jane. I also really love this pair but oh, the price. Too many dollars, Chie.

We Discuss: Emotional Shopping.

Disclosure: I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

A: I’m drowning my sorrows in the Loft sale.

M: There you go.

A: Die cold shoulder, die.

M: I got a secondhand Vince top and dress for cheap on eBay.

A: Yay!

A: Dammit Loft, crazy sleeves on EVERYTHING.

M: I'm into SOME of the sleeve craziness. Some.

A: I just need to be able to wear a cardigan.

M: Ah.

A: CARNIGAN. STOP SPELL CHECKING ME, COMPUTER.

M: Even with long sleeves?

A: My office is arctic.

M: I hate shoving sleeves into a carnigan.

A: Yeah, but still. Bell sleeves just ain't my jam.

M: You need a desk blanket like me.

A: I can’t decide if I love or hate this:

M: I would like it better without the feather tbh. Just a black, structured top.

M: Lou and Grey has some really pretty jewelry. Not on sale of course.

A: Ooh, I’ll check it out.

A: Really, I just hope my Everlane jeans work and I want another cashmere sweater. Can I just wear jeans and sweaters all winter?

M: Yes

A: And I’ve had these weird Everlane boots in my basket for, like, six months. They’re on sale. I KNOW they’re a bad boyfriend. I know this. And yet:

M: Ha just get them! Or are they Final sale?

A: Nope, they’re not. The lowest “chose what you pay” is $123.

M: Ah then try them and then you'll know.

A: Yeah, I might.

M: Can you choose $70? Ha.

A: Right? I CHOSE to pay $25.

M: Haha. Sometimes you just have to try the weird thing.

A: Like, I have to know. Done. Blog science.

M: Hahaha. How much did you pay.

A: $12

M: Dealzzzz

A: I mean, add a 3.

M: Oh. How is that choosing.

A: Apparently $12 is not a choice.

M: Dicks.

A: I don't fall for their emotional blackmail and always chose the lowest price.

M: Crap I kind of want this:

A: Ugh, that is cute! Chose to pay $15.

M: Why would anyone EVER choose to pay more than the lowest price.

A: Right? Fuck that.

M: Ugh! Why am I looking!

A: Everlane Stockholm Syndrome.

M: Throw a net over me.

M: Meanwhile Gap keeps serving me this look that I call "The Grandpa Joe.”

A: That look is very... golden ticket.

M:

A: Haaa. Perfect.

Fall Beauty Wish List.

Disclosure: I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

Stuff I Like will return next Thursday when I have enough stuff to talk about. Hopefully y'all have been enjoying those entries because they're really fun to write. This week in it's place I'm going to talk about what I want for fall for my face because I'm nearly out of everything and that opens me up to trying new products.

Here are the things I'm out of or nearly out of:

Holy shit, this is going to be rough, right? Luckily I have a couple of samples coming in my next Allure Beauty Box (shush, Marianne) that I'm pretty excited about:

I love everything Kiehl's makes, pretty much, so I'm assuming I'll like this eye cream. I am not sold on Drunk Elephant but I've not tried the Whipped Cream crap yet so I'll give it a go, though I've been liking my La Roche-Posay moisturizer and will probably re-buy that either way.

I recently used my Shopspring credits (Thanks so much! You can use my link for $20 off your first purchase of $75+ plus use SPRING10 for 10% off) to buy a bottle of RMS Beauty Oil since I'm nearly out of face oil to the point that I'm basically slathering on dregs. It's pretty sad, tbh. I will probably reorder my Juno oil at some point because I still love it but the RMS oil gets good reviews and it's harvested from the Amazon jungle or some such crap. I'll definitely report back.

Okay, now foundations. I have been using two on the regular but my recent onset of rosacea (which I still need to write about) has me rethinking everything. My workday foundation is Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation which I like and have been using for years but I'm open to trying something new. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe something hydrating like this Tarte foundation or something like this mineral foundation? My Smashbox is full coverage and bullet proof but I am not sure I really need all that, if that makes sense.

The other thing I've been using on and off is Tarte Bb Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer. Despite it's ridiculous name it's just a very nice tinted sheer foundation. It works great in the summer but it's terrible on my dry winter skin so I'm looking for a nice tinted moisturizer that'll work in the winter. I know I can mix some of my regular foundation with moisturizer but what fun is that? I want to try new stuff! I might give the Sunday Riley tinted primer another shot or maybe this Dr. Jart+ stuff

Okay, this is getting too long, but if you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

BUY THIS (So We Don't Have To): A Few Good Sales.

Disclosure: I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

As usual, I've been trolling the good deals and I've put together some info about the various sales going on this week so you don't have to:

Last Call:
They currently have a BOGO sale (buy one item, get the second 50% off) with code HALFOFF and 3% cash back with eBates. Plus, if you sign up with their InCircle program, you get free 2-day shipping w/ code INCIRCLE and you can get a $10 instant coupon if you sign up for their email updates. Also, they currently have an extra 50-70% off all clearance stuff (my favorite) so that’s where I’m looking. I really love this Botkier crossbody bag that's now $72:

And this fun Rebecca Minkoff earring set is now $20 and if you're a weirdo who's already started holiday shopping they'd would make a great gift:

GAP:
Gap keeps reminding me that they're offering 40% off my purchase with code HAPPY plus 2% cash back with eBates. They have the cutest Jeanz for Teenz that I'm tempted by but tbh, I just want another pair of cozy joggers:

Nordstrom Rack:
NR is currently having a Hautelook Marc Jacobs event that’s breaking my brain. I mean, how can this beauty slip through my grabby little hands?

I am very much taking it personally. UGH.

Shoes.com:
Shoes.com is one of those sites I forget about which is a mistake because, hello 20% off  (plus free shipping and exchanges) with code SEPTEMBER17* AND 12% cash back with eBates! What the what! I know! Marianne recently bought a really cute pair of Adidas there:

And I think these Sam Edelman leopard flats have quite a lot of potential:

AND, if you were starting to think about ankle boots, they carry a nice pair by Cole Haan:

Just FYI, these boots are cheaper on NR, but sizing is very limited. (*Sadly, Birkenstock, Frye and Ugg are all excluded from this coupon code. Trust me, I tried.)

Madewell:
GODDAMN NOTHING. COME ON, MADEWELL.

We Discuss: Slippery Slopes.

Disclosure: I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

M: I kind of want fuzzy shearling Birks to wear around the house this winter.

A: That sounds reasonable. Me too.

M: I hate winter.

A: So, so much.

A: Also, I just want to remind you that back in January 2016 you shut me down re. shearling Birkenstocks.

M: I know, I’m a monster.

A: I have Ugg slippers that I love but they’re pretty ratty.

M: Same. And I wish they were more supportive.

M: I’m really unenthused about Birkenstock season ending.

A: ME TOO. I started thinking about it and was all….😢

M: It's cold and I'm wearing booties and my feet are so mad.

A: I am also wearing booties and ugh. I feel like shearling Birkenstock clogs are only a matter of time. Help.

M: Low of 47 Thursday. Like fuck off.

A: Yeah. My issue is that I have to be reasonable and buy the things I actually need.

M: I need to be super strategic but nothing is really making me excited.

A: I need, like, leopard flats and black pants. I want new jeans, a leather jacket, a black cashmere sweater, maybe these boots and now shearling Birkenstocks that I’ll probably end up wearing out of the house oops.

M: Haaaa slippery slope.

A: To be fair, it was shearling clogs I originally wanted, but still. I am tempted.

M: I mean, I'd still raise an eyebrow at wearing them outside of the house but I'm sure in another year I'll only be wearing shearling Birkenstocks.

A: Right! I would buy them solely to wear around the house and then one day I'd accidentally wear them to the grocery store and suddenly they'd be my everyday shoes. Slippery slope indeed.

A: WHO AM I.

M: I JUST WANT THEM FOR AROUND THE HOUSE THAT'S ALL.

A: TOTALLY ME TOO I WOULD NEVER WEAR THEM TO WORK OR MAYBE A LITTLE BIT.

M: So coooozy.

A: My feet are cold right now because my booties have holes them which is stupid. Perf boots are stupid. Everything is stupid.

M: ME TOO. And I refuse to wear socks because I HATE SOCKS. And also they look stupid with perforated boots. Whose dumbass idea was this.

M: I DEFINITELY DON'T WANT THESE AT ALL.

A: SO COZY. SOB.
