Adrien: More Highlights.

Inspired by Marianne (and by our round of creative poses last summer) I also decided to pose in a more awesome manner, JUST TO MAKE YOU ALL HAPPY.

Norms:

You are so funny! (I am alone.)

 What...is that up there?

Oh, woe is my hair:

This? My bosom? I contemplate:

Scary monster!

Marianne: They Go With Everything.

I know, if I wear these much more I am going to end up being The Girl In Those Dang Yellow Shoes. I know. But I loooove them, and they go with everything! Plus, one of our adorable commenters said she was enjoying seeing how to make this color work in your wardrobe. Don't encourage me, guys! I still have at least two more outfit combinations in mind to show you! Today? Brown + mustard. I'm like a sandwich of goodness.
Here is an adorkable pose I call "Spin Mommy"! But really, this dress has great movement. It swirls around your legs when you walk and makes me feel like a lady.
And yeah, I got a yellow pedicure in homage to my favorite shoes. It's a full on banana fest around here.

What About Prom?

M: You know who I love that I had forgotten about? Scott Speedman.

A: I seriously don't think I've ever seen a single thing he was in.

M: You never watched Felicity? Dude.

A: Nope. I've also never seen Dawson's Creek. We got the WB way after everyone else, it would seem.

M: Was he on Dawson's Creek? I didn't watch that, but I don't think so. BUT:

A: Oh, no! I just missed out on a lot of shows that most people watched. Mmmm...rugged.

M: He is really good. I think I watched most of Felicity on DVD after it was over.

A: I also haven't seen My So-Called Life. I'm not sure he's my type, though. I mean, um...

Dude is high.

M: You just leave him alone. ALONE. I want to sit you down and force you to watch Felicity so that you can love him tooo. And Jordan Catalano! I do not dig Jared Leto in the least, but I did like this, back in the day:

A: See, when I was in high school this was what I was into:

I SAID GODDAMN.

M: Heh. This is where our tiny age difference is apparent, isn't it? I first love Johnny Depp in Crybaby. But I just realized that this:

Is this:

Is this:

And...I maybe have a problem?

A: Hee! you do. I was also VERY MUCH about this:

I liked the deep thinking boys with amazing cheekbones. There was also, very briefly, this:

For which I have no explanation.

M: Okay, I was totally on board until the Half Man there. Right? He's the half on Two and A Half Men? I haven't ever seen that show.

A: I know! I know. It was a minor blip. I was so crazy about Pretty in Pink but Andrew McCarthy is such a drip that I felt like I had no other option.

M:

A: Well, that is obvious now, but he was 26 when that movie was made. And looked it.

M: He was my favorite person in that whole movie.

A: Well, NOW he is. When I was 14 he was kind of scary.

M: This would probably be a good time to mention I didn't see that movie until college? I KNOW.

A: Oh my God, Marianne. When did you see Sixteen Candles? Last week?

M: No, I was all about Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller, The Breakfast Club, but no Pretty in Pink. I don't know why, either. Don't ask me when I saw Some Kind Of Wonderful.

A: Oh God, Eric Stoltz was eight different kinds of hot in that. That kiss!

M: You are going to be so mad.

A: What.

M: I watched it lastsummeraftercampdon'tyell.

A: MARIANNE. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE.

What did you think?

M: I KNOW. I...am not sure it holds up to the test of time. I'm sorry.

A: I have to go lie down now.

M: Oh my god, I just found this and I may never stop laughing:

A: Oh! That is kind of...sweet. I don't know. He's got to be someone's favorite, right?

M: I think it is genuinely adorable.

A: You know what's genuinely adorable?

M: Aw. Yeah.

Adrien: Tippy.

Reviewing the photos is always something. There's usually (fingers crossed!) a few good ones but there are also a few surprises. Like, today I start out relatively normal:

Then for no reason I'm listing off to the side:

And...laughing at nothing:

Never mind, there's always the closeup:

Adrien: Needs Mustard Wedges.

I love this dress. I love the story of this dress. It's probably one of the nicest things I own and I always feel like a million bucks when I wear it:

But! You know what I realized? I don't so much like the sandals I'm wearing with it...

...mostly because I think Marianne's new wedges would look WAY BETTER. Hmm.

Fashion Math.

M: Garance is talking about fashion math, but she's doing it wrong.

A: That's totally fashion math...if you're A FAMOUS RICH PERSON. Goddamn.

M: Is this some big secret? Hey have a lot of money! Use that money to buy things, then wear the things!

A: And! If you have vintage expensive things, "mix" those in with the new expensive things! Fashion math!

M: BRILLIANT! Give this woman a degree! Doctorate of Privilege! Fashion Math, Cumma Sum Laude!

A: The trick to true fashion math is to (maybe) throw in one super duper dirt cheap item from, like, Topshop or J Crew.

M: Just to show you are still Of The People.

A: Just like you and me!

M: Yes, today I have decided to show I am Of The People by wearing a skirt I bought for $4. I just forgot to grab my grandmother's Hermes to go with it. :(

A: YOU FAIL AT MATH DUMMY.

M: Dangit.

A: I like to pair my Celine with a little Marc by Marc just to keep it real with the kids today, don't you know.

M: Marc by Marc? How brave.

A: Well, one must make sacrifices where one must. (Not that I must, but you know.)

Marianne: It's Hot.

You guys? Go read our excellent interview on Get Off My Internets. Ranow.

I love summer. Really, I love the heat, I love going to the pool as much as possible, I love all of the great produce. But y'all? It is HOT. So hot that I misspelled my name in the title at first and that I have trouble mustering up more of an outfit than this.
Seriously, I put on a belt for about a minute and nearly started crying. The necklace made my neck sweat, but come on. We live in a SOCIETY. I have to at least try to accessorize.
My favorite accessory? Bed-headed toddler.
