Weekend Window Shopping: A Good Print.

I love a good print, especially in the warmer months when everything is so fresh and cheerful (and when it doesn't rain ten days IN A ROW. Ahem.) Here you go:

Cute Boy Friday: Beep Boop.

M: Is Colton Haynes a real human y/n

A: Who?

A: I have Googled. Ken doll.

M: Clearly a very hot cyborg sent to destroy us.

A: I do not trust that.

M: He actually seems like a very lovely genetically blessed "person"

A: Can he talk and stuff?

M: He has a mouth.

A: Marianne, that's not the same thing.

M: ?????

A: CAN HE TALK WITH IT.

A: Beep boop...derrrp

M: He's so pretty.

M: *pet pet*

A: I feel like I could tap on his skull and hear the ocean.

M: Naw.

A: He's so symmetrical!

M: http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/05/colton-haynes-interview

A: FARM BOY ARE YOU KIDDING ME.

M: I know

A: That's how he's programmed.

M: He plays Rob Lowe's son. Too good.

A: He was grown in a lab.

M: I approve.

A: Very pretty.

Adrien: Rain for Days.

Ten straight days of rain, you guys. It's amazing I'm getting dressed at all at this point and not curled up in a corner in my oldest pair of yoga pants. I bought this dress at the end of winter, wore it once and then banished it in my mind until next fall, which makes no sense. It's a three-season dress! I should wear it, so I did:

It's the Bailey 44 Gathered Jersey Dress and it's still available at Anthro for slightly more than it's worth. (See my review.) I'm definitely going to keep my eye on this Bailey 44 striped midi dress which will be really cute when it's on sale. I also think this red faux wrap dress would be a great summer option and, for those days when you want to dress like you just walked through a tornado, this Bailey 44 dress is aptly named. Heh. Oh, and if you're a size small, ModCloth has a very similar blue/teal dress with sleeves.

I thought a red bag was needed to bump things up a bit. I'm carrying my bulletproof LV Epi speedy (via eBay) which does great in the rain:

A good red satchel is on my short list of must-have items. This red Tuscany Leather bag is amazingly similar (and slightly smaller) and I love the super cheerful red of this Fossil brand satchel. MBMJ also does a great red bag and if I had my way, this beauty would be mine. *sigh* My bargain pick is this cheerful red nylon Polo satchel.

Daniel stopped by to say hi and stare at nothing on the wall the way cats do. So unnerving.  Details:

This photo shows the nice details in the dress! I'm wearing my Fisticuffs leather cuff and a couple of Banana necklaces. Both are sold out but this Melinda Maria scarab pendant is beautiful and BR still had these little beetle earrings and a brooch. The tiny pyramid stud necklace is everywhere, so isn't hard to find. Or, um, go in the other direction. Subtle!

Finally, my Chie Mihara sandals. I really need to take this to my shoe guy for new heel taps but I can't seem to take them off my feet. The update is here and I'm so into this lower-heel version. Like, so so into them. Ugh.

BUY THIS (So We Don't Have To): Lulu Frost Secret Sale!

I feel like I have to make up for the whole Johnny Depp thing so how about a cache of ridiculously marked-down Lulu Frost jewelry? My friend Nina, who always finds the best stuff, let me know about the Lulu Frost jewelry just hanging out on the TJ Maxx website. None of it is over $40! They don't allow you to search by designer so Nina and I did the work for you:

This statement necklace is amazing and retails for $275! Oh, but it's $34.99 for you:

There are matching earrings and a bracelet as well. This bracelet is fancy in a very Downton way:

And how beautiful are these earrings?

Weren't you just saying you needed a crystal-studded bird necklace? Maybe that was me.

That necklace retailed for $324! I can't stand it. Also, these are SO FANCY I LOVE THEM:

Finally, this lapis bracelet makes me crazy. Craaaaazeeee:

Ugh, it's all so pretty and I'm trying not to buy it all up. Halp.

Our Most Sincere Apologies.

M: Did YOU know Johnny Depp wears prosthetic teeth in all his movies because his actual teeth are rotten and disgusting? I just broke up with him.

A: WUT. This is very depressing but I’m not actually surprised.

M: I can’t ever go back.

A: ðŸ˜³ Heavy drug use? Or is he just disgusting? Or both?

M: He apparently never does anything to his teeth. No dentist ever. His breath must be atrocious.

A: REVOLTING.

M: She is literally trying to escape.

A: Poor super moddle.

M: Well, maybe not poor. She’s made her choice.

A: Heh. The choice to hold her breath forever. 😶

M: So gross.

The Stuff I Don't Usually Talk About.

I don't generally like talking about my underwear but I bought new underthings and thought they were worth recommending, so! You get to hear about my underwear.

Now, I know there are folks who're perfectly happy buying underwear at Target or wherever and that is totally legit. If you find something inexpensive that works for you, that's awesome. Me? I am of the mind that I spend more on a few things - skincare, handbags, shoes, and underwear. (Even so, I like a sale!) So, I thought I'd make a few recommendations and tell you what I just bought that I'm happy with.

Bras.

I am so boring - I find one I like and then buy it in a bunch of colors. Done. Currently it's the Natori Sheer Jacquard Full Coverage Underwire Bra:

It's not itchy or fussy, it's very lightly padded, and it comes in fun colors if that's your thing. It isn't inexpensive but can be easily found on sale especially in the non-traditional colors - duchess rose, winter lake, that kind of thing. I will admit that I sometimes buy them (new with tags) on eBay for under $20 a pop. I have tried a few other Natori bras, like the very pretty Feathers Contour Plunge bra and the strap-minimal Understated Contour Bra. The Sheer Jacquard style is my everyday bra for now though I'm curious about their convertible options so I might try one of those next.

Underwear.

I have a drawer full of Hanky Panky Original Rise thongs (and a few in the low-rise which I regret) and in general I'm happy with this style. What I don't like is the price which has gotten freaking ridiculous. I never, ever buy these full price. Never! Nordstrom does a good promotion during their semi-annual sale and, like the bras above, you can find decent markdowns if you don't mind odd colors/patterns. This pretty floral is marked down and a few colors here are too. 6pm is also a good source for an order add-on. Mine last a good long time because I never, ever put them in the dryer. Actually, none of your delicates have any business in the dryer and please always use a lingerie bag in the washer. Take care of your stuff and it will last longer.

Most recently, though, I was so irritated by the cost of my usual Hanky Panky underwear that I decided to give Natori a try. I already have a few pairs of the Bliss Lace Bikini which I like okay, so I bought the Bliss Perfection Bikini:

And the Bliss Perfection Thong:

Both were on sale and both are REALLY GOOD. I mean, really good. The lace waistbands are thin, stretchy and non-bunchy and nothing rides up or out of place. Super comfortable and good quality. I'm a little side-eye about the stupid "one size" thing so if you're on either end of their size 2-12 claim I'd definitely try them on in a store first.

These styles might actually replace my Hanky Pankys if they hold up well. We shall see. And now I'm going to stop talking about my underwear but I encourage you to talk about yours in the comments if you so wish.

Adrien: Lazy Day.

I can wear jeans on Fridays and last Friday I was also the only person in the office soooo it's kind of amazing I wore any pants at all. But yeah, jeans and my usual kind of thing:

I'm wearing Banana Republic high waisted jeans in a black wash, which have become quite a staple for me. The top I'm wearing is a simple, inexpensive blouse I found at Marshalls recently. (The brand is Dalia, which I think is one of those Marshalls brands.)  This fun pineapple print top is the same shape and I love the simplicity of this Allen Allen top. I think my favorite is this Max Studio blouse. I'd wear the hell out of that.

My open cardigan is also from Marshalls but it's not hard to find something similar. I love the drape of this Marc NY version and LL Bean has a French terry version (and a striped version!) that looks really comfy. This cardigan by Splendid is the closest match and hopefully would wear better than mine. My boots, which are hard to see, are Madewell chelsea boot which I was worried I wouldn't get much wear out of, but ha! I love them to bits. They're totally sold out but I think this Everlane pair in burgundy might have my heart for next fall.

Details! My bracelets are a Fisticuffs leather cuff and a Giles and Brother railroad spike cuff. I'm still going strong with my new BR necklace which appears to finally be sold out. No worries, they have new feathery things and tassely earrings that I'm quietly obsessing over and I love this weird firework necklace. What doesn't stab you in the neck makes you prettier, I always say.

Finally, my bag. I talked about this MBMJ bag recently and I've suddenly found myself carrying it a lot. Something about the rich blues that Marc Jacobs does so well. This little Percy is a gorgeous color and this MJ blue hobo at Gilt would go with basically everything. And ugh, this beautiful Turnlock Tote. Killing me. I think it's only fair to give a bargain option and I this fun blue faux-leather hobo looks way more expensive than it is.

That's all I got! Happy May, everyone.
