Outfit of the Day: Little Black Summer Dress.

So listen, I keep getting asked if we've "settled in" to our new place and these photos should prove that we absolutely have not. I'm still trying to figure out the best place to take photos (we won't talk about the shelves of crap behind me) but for now this will do. Today I'm going to show you the first thing I bought from my recent shopping trip:

It's a little black summer dress, my favorite! This tiered black dress is by Sanctuary and it's just a floaty, easy summer option. Totally comfortable, machine washable, and despite claiming "bubble sleeves" I promise they're not aggressive. I'll mostly be wearing this dress with Birkenstocks (like I do) but I have these red clog peep toe sandals that I thought looked cute with it. My pair are Lotta from Stockholm but this Mia pair is similar with a lower heel.

For a similar dress, this one at Target looks like a good under-$30 option and this one at Madewell is great with the longer sleeves. I gotta say, though, my dress is under $100 and 20% off at Bloomingdales right now! I'm wearing a medium and it's generous without feeling overwhelming.

I'm going a little more dressed up by pairing it with my MJ quilted shoulder bag. I've linked my exact bag on the RealReal but this one by Carvela is a dead ringer and naturally Target's got you covered with a cheap 'n cheerful version

Here's my big dumb face so I can show you my necklace - it's a Gorjana Parker Wrap necklace worn lariat-style with my own added charm. I've been really happy with the quality of this one, which should be obvious since I wear it, like, a lot.

That's it for today! Off I go to organize shelves and whatnot.

  3. The dress looks great on you! We (my daughter and I) had a similar experience at Evereve! She lost weight and needed shorts (and for some reason many stores did not have denim shorts in her size). Evereve had some really nice ones and of course we added on some tops etc. Great shopping experience there.
