Marianne: Lacona Popover Review and Stuff.

So...by now it should be pretty evident that I went on a little patterned blouse shopping spree at anthropologie, which is probably unwise but I needed cute tops for a work thing and I had a weak moment. The good news is, I really love everything I bought. The bad news is, I now want a bunch more stuff, but more on that later.
This is the Lacona Popover, made by Tiny. It is not something I would normally gravitate towards, but let me tell you: this is cut SO WELL if you are at all curvy. It skims over everything and makes you look lean, plus the fabric is silky and it's such a pretty floral pattern. The back is really cute as well.
Today I'm wearing this cute top with these 1969 Zipper Legging Skimmer Jeans from the Gap. I loved my red jeans SO much that I thought I'd try these as well. They are a little different, slightly shorter and the rise is a touch lower, so I don't love them as much, but they are pretty cute for spring. The zipper pockets are a nice touch and I like to leave the bottom zippers undone to make the leg a little straighter.
Here's a closer look at my new top. The only problem with this brand is I LOVE EVERYTHING. Seriously, I bought and returned the Leila Tee only because I had already overspent, but I'm still thinking about it. I'm also currently obsessed with the Zambi Popover and the Gathered Vines Tunic. I might have to ask for all of it for my birthday or something. If you are built at all like me, I highly recommend trying this brand out.

BUY THIS (So We Don't Have To): House of Harlow Pendant Necklace.

I'm always looking for interesting bits of jewelry that aren't in your face, but that have interesting details. I got these cool House of Harlow Arrowhead stud earrings for my birthday and I've been super happy with them. They're small, but just right. To break myself out of my long pendant necklace addiction I've been looking for a smaller necklace that won't break the bank. This one looks exactly right:

It's cute, eh? Right now Piperlime is offering 25% off of a random selection of things including this necklace with code CHIC. Use eBates for an extra 2% back! (my referral link)

Adrien: I Have A Problem.

***New stuff for sale in the shop! Bags and shoes and jeans! Whee!***

I've talked about my Striped Top Problem more than once lately and yet? It continues. I found this adorable Stripezip tee on the Anthropologie sale rack last week and it was mine before I even knew what had happened. Yay, Anthro, you got it right! Except for this!

Anyway, what's one more?

This top definitely can be filed under "simple with interesting details" which is what I want everything to be. It is comfortable and falls nicely with a loose fit that's tempered by the zipper detail on the front. Just the thing to wear with those pants that are slightly too tight in the waist because you spent the long winter crying and eating cookies. Whee.

I'm wearing it with my purple-blue Madewell sidewalk skimmers (these blue Frye flats would also be perfect in this capacity) and my beloved red LV epi Speedy. (This red Fossil bag is what you should buy, like, right now if you don't already have a red bag. Dooo eeet.)

Details! My bracelet is Giles & Brother and I love it. My necklace is by InfinEight on Etsy.

Spring is just around the corner, right?  I totally ignored the filthy sad pile of melting snow behind me.

Hemsworthy.

M:  I have thoughts about Chris Hemsworth at the Oscars. He has never done it for me but there are some really amazing arms happening. I'm just saying:

A: Uh, I believe I tried to sell him to you back in 2012.

M: Heee. Back before I loved Miley!

A: I know! How things have changed. I tole you Chris Hemsworth was worth consideration. The other one is okay I guess:

A: Wait! There are three of them:

A: I need to go lie down.

M: That is a genetically blessed family. Lesser Hemsworth is tiny though.

A: Poor Lesser, it's not his fault. the other two are giants. Like, they're both 6'3".

M: They look ACTUALLY tall, not Hollywood tall. This was the picture that made me reconsider him. He is working that tux and sweetly protective of his extremely pregnant wife:

A: Oh my God I would climb him like a treeeeeeeee.

M: He could pick you up one handed!

A: ...

M: Hold you against his bosom like a wee baby.

A: ...

M:

A: Eh.

M: Come on.

A: The baby is sweet but it's in my way, Marianne.

M: I want to photoshop you into his arms. Aaaaaarrrrmmmms

A: ARRRMMMMZZZZZ. Also, I found this and thought of you:

M: Oh thank you!

A: Of course! I am very nice that way.

M: So thoughtful.

A: Like, I'm a really, really good friend.

M: The BEST.

A: Aw, hugs. Heart goat goat goat.

M: Dancing twins dancing twins goat goat heart eye smiley.

Boden Review: Leila Ponte Dress & Stripy Sweatshirt.

So, hey! I ordered some stuff from Boden (with a code! Always wait for a code. Also, 2.5% back on eBates. Always use eBates. That's my referral link.) and it came and I tried it on and didn't take pictures because why would anyone want pictures for a review? Ugh. I am the worst. Anyway, I will tell you about these things and you can decide for yourself.

First, I ordered the Leila Ponte Dress:

I'm just okay.
I got the navy because it seemed like a good basic to pair with my crazier print scarves or leopard print accessories. I ordered my usual size and it fit me perfectly. And then I put it back in the bag and sent it right back to them. Why, Adrien?? Why would you do that? Here's the thing: the dress was okay, it fit, the quality was good. But! It didn't look anything like a $100+ dress. No way, no how. If it had been $40 at Ross I would've bought it in a heartbeat but I'm not spending $100+ on a dress that's just okay. I think the trick with this one is to buy it in a fun color or stripe, not the boring navy basic.

Moving on, I also bought the Stripy Sweatshirt because I have A Problem.

Buy me! I striped.
You guys. I cannot not order the striped top. And Boden has LOTS OF THEM. This one seemed like a good in-between-weather top, something I can wear in the springtime without freezing my ass off. It fits fine (I got a small but almost wish I'd sized up) and is really comfortable. Just exactly what you want a striped sweatshirt to be. And hey! I just remembered that I'm wearing it in this photo:

See? I totally took pictures and stuff. I'm the best.

Marianne: Cute From Behind.

I feel like I need to start things off by saying wow, this top is WAY cuter in person than it looks online. It's the Clara Buttondown from anthropologie and it took me forever to even find because it doesn't really look like that. All high/low hemline nonsense, no. In fact, I titled this post "cute from behind" because I bought this top based on how cute the split back is, and it looks derpy and dumb in the product shot. This top looks and feels really nice and is the perfect thing to dress up slim bootcut jeans and clogs (mine are Miz Mooz but these are a close dupe and whoa, cheap) on a spring-is-coming-but-not-quite-yet kind of day. I like the tiny bird print but it comes in some nice solid colors too, and the price isn't bad for anthro.

Here is where I should have included a picture of the back, but my fragile ego can't handle seeing that particular angle this early on a Monday morning, so instead let's talk about this awesome bracelet. This J. Crew Factory Crystal Sunburst Cuff Bracelet is inexpensive (I got it with a code for $12!) but looks super high end. I was pleased to see that the crystals are riveted on, not glued on to the lucite. I adore it.

I am constantly in need of colorful, cute blouses to dress up jeans at work, and I just love this one! Definitely worth a look. I've been wearing it with my House of Harlow locket, but I think it could be fun with a chunky, sparkly necklace too. This one's a keeper.

P.S., on my lips is Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry, which I am OBSESSED with. It's so perfect, I feel the need to buy 17 more of them to hoard. Get yourself some.
