Marianne: Posture Dress

First off, I love this dress and you can't buy it online. UGH.It's from Cynthia Rowley's line for Marshalls and TJMaxx, which to be honest I normally ignore, but I fell in love with this dress. The cut is very flattering, it's a weighty ponte so it doesn't show any lumps and bumps, and the pattern is so cute. You can find similarly cut ponte dresses (I LOVE this one for just $45!) and there are loads of "composite dresses" out there as well (file this one under WHOA), but if you want this one, head to your local TJMaxx or Marshalls, it was only $35!
My only quibble is that you have to stand up STRAIGHT otherwise it wrinkles weirdly, but really I could stand to improve my posture. And I did have to try on three different bras before I found one that minimized the back fat effect (do I need one of these??). The plain, high neckline was begging for a bright necklace so I went with this sparkly Banana Republic number (no longer available but this one would be amazing).
Shoe-wise, this looks great with mustard yellow wedges, but I had killed my feet walking all over East Nashville in those last week, so I went with much lower chunky green clogs. And my trusty Su-Shi Old Skool Mini (mine's the honey brown color, fyi).
I'm having a much harder time finding work-appropriate summer dresses in stores, but this one is definitely a winner.

  1. It's hard in summer I think to look professional enough without melting! Lovely dress, and the colour of those shoes is gorgeous x
