Weekend Window Shopping: Damn Pretty Blouses.

I have a constant hole in my wardrobe that I'm trying to fill - a damn pretty blouse hole. I have a few but never enough and I always want more. Oh, and I want them to have sleeves because it's cold out and all these stores pushing sleeveless tops have got to be kidding me. IT IS WINTER. STOP IT. So, here is a little collection of damn pretty blouses with sleeves that I wish were hanging in my closet right this second:

  1. I love your eye for pattern. You can't beat a pretty print blouse for getting dressed quickly for work while looking effortlessly sophisticated.

I swear by my Babaton Bennetts, sold at Aritzia. They're sold as dresses, but who are they kidding, they're tunics. They look so chic over slim stretch trousers or slim jeans, while you feel as though you have silk pyjamas on all day. The tie waist gives it both shape and that perfect "je m'en foutisme" (rude French for an "I don't care" attitude) slouch. I have two already -- one black, one navy/black leopard print.

Though the price is eye-watering, they're among the top of my price-per-wear, especially because I wear them all year. They're cool even in roasting summer heat (the magic of good quality silk) and warm enough with a tank and cardigan in the winter. I even casual them up in the summer with bare legs and denim cutoffs (because tunic). Also no dry cleaning needed. I wash them in the machine inside out on a cold cycle then air dry them, and they still look new after 2-3 years of frequent rotation.

The green is half price right now!

    1. Oh! Oh, I love them! You are a bad lady. How does the sizing run?

  2. You're a bad lady, too! In writing this comment to you, I talked myself into purchasing the green (so that's your fault somehow?). I couldn't remember whether I had bought them in XS or S before (I cut out tags), so I purchased both to be sure, and I'll return one. Usually I'm between an S and an M, so I guess size down. I can let you know the exact bust measurements of an XS and an S later in the week.
