Marianne: Multi Maxi

A quickie this morning with one maxi dress worn two ways. I've been wanting a brightly colored, breezy maxi dress for a while (because I love them, even if Adrien is not a fan), and this hot pink and orange color blocked maxi dress from Old Navy was love at first sight. The material feels great, much more like silk than polyester, and it moves so nicely. I went up a size to get some length and now I see in the product shot that it's supposed to have a high/low hemline? It doesn't on me. I prefer it like this. Anyway, the straps on this dress make it work unfriendly, so I tried it two different ways. First, worn as a maxi skirt with a crisp white t-shirt layered over it.

And secondly with a trusty denim jacket thrown over it. I think I prefer it this way, and that's how I ultimately wore it to work, but I like that there are options to wear it multiple ways. It was so comfortable and I got loads of compliments. A winner!

  1. Oh, so pretty! It's not that I don't like the maxi dress, it's that it doesn't like me. On you? Perfection.

  2. I tried this dress on in the store and was surprised to see it had a high/low hemline online. I asked the sales girl about it next time I was in store and apparently they are two different dresses. Go figure. I much prefer the one length and I think this looks adorable!

    1. Aha! That's so funny. I prefer it all one length as well. And thank you!

  3. LOVE a maxi dress! Glad you got the one with the same hemline. I don't know what I think of all this high-low madness. I really don't like seeing all the interior stitching that shows on the low side.

    It looks great on you!

  4. Cute dress! Definitely much more flattering with the jacket than with the tee, though. The tee just cuts across you at a bad spot.
