We Don't Feel (Very) Shoppy.

A: Just got back from returning the Lands End Canvas stuff and stopped in Forever 21. Cute cheap jewelry!

M: Oh yay! I never venture in there and I really should.

A: I just look at the jewelry, I rarely go further than that.

M: I still kind of want that vest I linked to a while ago but I probably don't need that AND my field jacket? I don't know. I am wearing that field jacket to dead death.

A: I don't know how to wear a vest.

M: I think I'm getting this one, actually:

A: Oh, that's cute! I think it'll look great on you.

M: I think I'll wear it a lot. And it's cheap.  I also got these little wishbone studs because they are not even $2? I'm sure the quality is awesome.

A: Those are cute! They have such cute, insanely cheap jewelry. And by cheap I mean I'm sure its made from lead and maybe also super lead.

M: My ear lobes will fall off, but two dollar earrings!

A: They are going to look so cute on your green ear lobes!

M: Why thank you!

M: Oh hell. I found the most beautiful dress and it's so expensive and why. WHY.

M: Let's not talk about the side view and how her clavicle sticks out further than her boobs.

A: I don't know about that colorway, Marianne. It reminds me of...something.

M: Shut up. IT'S PRETTY.

A: I WAS JUST SAYING.

M: I LIKE IT SHUTUP.

A: IT'S VERY PRETTY. GOD.

M: ANYWAY. I have not been in shopping mode, mostly because I'm working on the nursery, but I did buy an H & M dress while I was on vacation. I wish we had an H & M or that they allowed online ordering. Anyway, it's like this, but it was $14.

A: Oh, stripes! I like that a lot, perfect for spring. WHICH IS COMING, RIGHT? I want this to wear to all the parties I don't get invited to:

M: I'll throw you a party.

A: Aw, really? You are sweet.

M: For you? Anything. And I didn't really need another striped dress but this one is black with cream stripes and short sleeves and the other is white with blue stripes and long sleeves and HUMOR ME. I think spring is coming. Like, this weekend.

M: Also, I like how I was all "I'm not feeling very shoppy" but then I remember that I really want this:

M: For lugging around baby stuff this summer. Yes?

A: Oh, yes! Absolutely! I love it. Also, I found another vest for you:

M: Sometimes you are not very nice.

A: What? It's Rebecca Taylor! You like her.

M: .....

A: What?

M: Anyway, I found one for YOU:

A: Oh my God. The description on that is hilarious. JUST WEAR IT.

M: JUST PUT IT ON IT'S OKAY.

A: IT'S CHIC WE PROMISE.

M: AND REVERSIBLE!

A: AND TRUE TO YOUR NORMAL FAKE FUR VEST SIZE.

M: Hahahahaha.

A: I'm totally buying that. It's only...holy shit? $698.

M: It just keeps getting better.

  1. I bought the cargo best above after the post about the other cargo vest and I love it. I also have a cargo jacket but the vest just somehow finishes off otherwise boring outfits. I usually pair it with cuffed boyfriend jeans and either a long sleeved cotton shirt or a collared shirt. I've probably worn it 5+ times since purchasing it, and still can't believe I got it from Forever 21!

  2. I've walked into Forever 21 a few times, made it 10 feet into the store and walked back out. Not sure if it is just the store I go into -- something about it feels like huge cluster/mess. Thrift shops don't even trigger me this badly. Anyway.

I work as an environmental remediation engineer for a living. Unless you eat the hypothetical lead earrings, feed them to young children or inhale ground up lead dust, the earrings should be fine. Bla bla, exposure pathways, neurological receptors, bla bla. Though in all seriousness children are affected by lead exposure more rapidly than adults so still no adding of hypothetical lead earrings to kids cereal.

  3. I wish that cargo vest came in a color besides olive. That's just not a great color for me, especially near my face. Sadness. :(
