Adrien: Lazy Anthropologie Review.

Last week I had a half day off and I somehow ended up at the mall which never, ever happens. I wandered into Anthropologie because even though it's not generally my style it's still fun to dig through the sale room when it's empty. (When it's not empty it's me trying not to strangle rude people with frilly blouses.)

ANYWAY. I did find a few interesting things to try on, like this dress which looked so promising on the hanger that I stalked the employee who was trying to rehang it:

this is a small.

Womp. It's not on the website anymore but that's for the best because nobody will look good in this puffy, be-pocketed mess. Just trust me. Next I tried on the (full-priced) West Street Shirtdress which caught my eye despite the questionable sleeve fins. First I tried on the small:

nerp.
It was RULL small. You can't really tell in the photo but the buttons were pulling in an unattractive manner:

Oof.

I have no ego in this so I tried on the medium too:

Better, but the sleeve fins on this dress killed it for me. And it's really a bit shorter than I'd like. I moved on to blouses. The Archivist Tee looked like it could go either way:

Eh, very pretty but not my style. I'm not sure why I thought it might be but I'm sure it's cute on someone! Also, it's silk, so not really a "tee", Anthro.  I then tried on my favorite of all the things I rooted out of the sale room, the Pemberton Blouse:

It's not the most flattering thing I've ever put on but it felt good and had satisfying little silver ball buttons and the print is SO EFFING CUTE:

seahorsezzz

It's still on the website but only in the solid color, which I also like. I didn't buy this and I've been regretting it ever since. Oh well. I'm sure a perfectly adorable seahorse print blouse isn't going to make my life more interesting or satisfying, right? ...Right? Ugh.

  3. I've been eyeing up that shirt dress you tried on. If it's still around and not as expensive when I pop this baby out in a month, I may have to make it happen. The fins don't bother me, and I think it looks really cute on you!

  6. My favorite is the shoulder fins dress! The seahorses are cute, but I think the tiny print creates a bit of a radiating visual illusion at a distance. I love that you are being so picky about the items in this post. I just returned $200 worth of items to LOFT today. (Disclosure, I had to order them from the website to get petite and since sizing is all over the place, I ordered two sizes of everything.) Well I kept one blouse and one short sleeve black cardigan, but two different styles of dresses, and a teal cardigan went back. The sales lady gave me a tiny bit of side eye about it. But look, I'm picky! I need something to fit me relatively well and not be fussy. Even if a dress is $40 and machine washable, I still have standards. My dream is to have two weeks worth of *perfect* flawless outfits.
