Reader Question: Help Me Find a Transitional Coat.

Our friend Lisa lives in Chicago, where coats are an incredibly important part of your wardrobe. She really wants a coat for fall to transition between her lightweight trench and her full-on winter coat. This is what she loved, (except for the prices):

    After buy those boots and getting the car fixed, I have decided I don't need that transitional coat after all! You were beyond awesome to come up with great selections for me. That model wearing the Mackage Trinity make it look as wan and pathetic as she does. Sadness.

    That Tory Burch trench is to die for, but I don't think I've ever spent $500 on one thing in my life, other than my wedding dress. I know it's an investment piece, but ack! If I won the lottery it'd be the first thing I'd buy, though.
