Adrien: It's That Striped Dress Again.

Hey, what a surprise, I'm wearing a striped dress. This is the one that Marianne and I talked about recently:

It's Banana Republic and there's a good chance I shrunk it a bit because it's shorter than I remembered but this isn't really a problem for me. Banana currently has a couple of fit-and-flare options but none with stripes. I would suggest the Gallerist dress at Madewell or this one from the Gap. The Boden Janie has also been discussed. And you GUYS. How cute is this striped Eliza J dress? Dang it. I don't need it but it's SO freaking cute.

I'm wearing my usual Cluse watch and a layered chain necklace that came from Banana a few years ago.  BR currently has some really cool mixed metal and mixed chain necklaces, but this one by Thalia Sodi is probably a bit more similar to what I'm wearing.

This bag is not actually the one I have for sale, but rather it's brother that I traded for with Marianne. I love the MBMJ "Mag Bag" style, it's super versatile. It's modern-day counterpart is probably the MBMJ Too Hot Tote, which has similar proportions. This metallic super-bargain Badgley Mischka is also similar, but in gold.

Daniel is checking out my red shoes, which are Chie Mihara from long, long ago. Do you have red shoes? You should have red shoes. I am going to suggest these Alex Marie Katey Mary Jane Pumps, or maybe this pair of Miz Mooz if you're feeling a bit more retro. If it's Chies you want, someone please buy this crazy pair. I love them.

  2. Love this dress on you -- and with those gams, you should show them off! :) I have a question about the MBMJ totes. They look so narrow, I'm not sure how practical they are, so I keep hesitating about investing in one. What can you fit in there?? (Sorry to be anonymous, not sure how else to comment!)

    1. The Hillier is a bit narrow but the "Too Hot" style has a wider opening and is actually a pretty big bag. Right now mine has a wallet, makeup bag, paperback novel (Jo Nesbo! So good.), hair brush and sunglasses case. I could easy shove a light cardigan in there and a snack. It's a good sized bag. The Mag Bag (which is what I'm holding in the outfit pics above) would fit all that stuff minus the cardigan. It's a narrower bag, but wide.

  3. I just got Prova boots from Aldo. Can y'all do a post on how to put together outfits with knee covering boots? I feel like I don't know how to wear them to work...what length skirts, how to pair w skinny jeans.

    1. Hey, neither of us own over-the-knee boots, so I'm not sure we're your best source for help. I would probably just treat them like knee boots - make sure your skirt hem is shorter than the top of the boot and wear with skinny jeans the way you would knee boots. Or with leggings and a tunic, maybe?
