A Few Dumb Things I've Bought.

My apologies for this being incredibly un-exciting, but I bought a few items of winter clothing that I've basically been wearing like a uniform and I thought I'd post about them.

I actually posted an IG story about this sweater because I like it so much which kind of pisses me off. I boycotted Everlane successfully for several years and then started looking for the perfect slightly cropped striped sweater and goddammit, the perfect one kept popping up and it was stupid Everlane. UGH. FINE. I ordered it with a discount and it's really good. I'm sorry. I give up. Everlane, you win. It's just the right amount of cropped and boxy so it falls in that casual way without looking too oversized. I got a medium and that size works well for me. And, its nice, soft cashmere which doesn't hurt.

I also ordered another Quince $50 cashmere sweater because they had a nice moss green and I got a large instead of my usual medium because I wanted a bit more slouch in this one. It's so nice! The perfect green. Here's the thing about these sweaters - they aren't high-end cashmere and yes, the will pill. But, for $50 it's still softer and nicer than that $98 acrylic blend sweater that's tempting you at Madewell. I promise. And you can wash them! Handwash or wash on delicate, roll in a towel to get the water out and then flat to dry.

Remember this Athleta Whisper jacket? I finally bought the parka version in black and Y'ALL. It is the perfect coat for the PNW winters and for travel because it's really lightweight yet still warm. Plus, it has a hood and it's water resistant enough to handle a little bit of rain. Athleta will be having a sale soon so hang tight and pounce on this when it's marked down. Also, I think it runs a size big but it depends on how much layering you want to allow for.

Finally, I'm sure I've posted about these before but Uniqlo makes the best under-sweater layers! I can't wear wool or cashmere next to my skin so I always wear a Heattech top as a base layer. They disappear under a sweater and will also keep you warm. They have a ton of styles and colors and they're on sale right this second!

That's it for now! Tell me what you've gotten lately that you love, even if it's that Madewell sweater (which is cute, I'll admit.)

I've Been Shoppy, Y'all.

Before I get started I just wanted to thank you all for your incredibly sweet and lovely comments on my last post. You're all the best and it was so fun to share my wedding with you all.

Now. Let's get in it. Something about the cabin fever of working from home with an injury paired with a challenging new job has made me want ALL THE THINGS. ALL OF THEM RIGHT NOW. I SHALL FILL THIS STRESS-HOLE WITH GLORIOUS THINGS. YES.

Ahem. This is to say that I've done some shopping. First, I finally caved to the AYR French Fry striped tee:

It showed up and I immediately wore it two days in a row, so I guess you could say I like it. It's too expensive but if you buy two tees you get 20% off which makes it slightly less too expensive. (I also got the Slushy tee in black which I'm still not 100% sure about but it's pretty good.)

Has anyone tried the AYR jeans? Wait, don't tell me. I don't want to know. Next:

YES. I spoiled this on IG but yes, of course I bought the shiny red Birkenstocks even though I won't be able to wear them for a while. I was afraid they'd sell out and I NEEDED THEM REAL BAD. Marianne bought them first and I was all:

They arrived and they are my new best friend. Sorry best friends, you've been replaced with shiny red German comfort sandals. Try harder, I guess. (At time of writing my bestie Kate had ordered them in the Madrid style, and bestie Ashley got the Gizeh version which means we got ourselves a proper Red Birk cult going. Join us!)

I also bought a new pair of Vuori Performance Joggers because my knee crutch has a velcro-lined pad which ripped holes in the inseams of all my comfy pants. I hate Velcro now, just FYI. A list of things with Velcro I hate: My air cast, my ice packs, my knee crutch. Velcro is ruining my life and my pants. Anyway, I bought the joggers in ruby heather because they were on sale and the color is good! Very cute.

Speaking of Vuori, that Palisades rain jacket kept getting marked down and down and down and I finally snapped and bought it (after returning this one from Athleta because it didn't quite work for me, size-wise.) The Vuori jacket fits true to size, the details are excellent and the color is really pretty! Plus, you get 20% off on your first purchase, which I used.

Last thing! I bought something I'd had my eye on for ages because Marianne showed it to me last spring and I filed it away under ooh, maybe. When it came back in stock recently I just couldn't resist (and you get 20% off your first order if you sign up for the mailing list! How could I not?) Anyway, I got the perforated Clare V Grande Fanny:

It's so good! Very chic, holds more than you would think and the leather is gorgeous. The strap comes in two sizes (regular and long) and I got the regular because I assumed it would be fine and guess what, it was not fine. On the longest setting it was still all up in my boob grill so I emailed to see if I could exchange it and Clare V sent me the longer strap for free! I was delighted. Now I can wear it crossbody like a belt bag or around my waist (unlikely) or looser like a crossbody bag. It's going to be my excellent summer bag and I plan on having an excellent summer because this past winter has sucked. (Except for the wedding/Paris part. That was cool.)

Killing Blog Time: A Few Rando Purchases.

If I buy something and don't tell you guys, did it actually happen? Haha. But wait, MOSTLY I AM MAD BECAUSE MY LEATHER JACKET WAS SUPPOSED TO COME YESTERDAY AND DID NOT. I was planning on reviewing it today but right now it's still on a delivery truck. Stop messing with my serotonin, UPS!* Anyway, I have a few purchases lately that I've been pleased with so you get to read about those things instead:

I went to Nordstrom Rack last weekend (ten minutes away! Such a novelty!) hoping to find jeans but they only had really weird stuff - like silver metallic jeans and patent leather leggings. Fun, but not what I'm looking for. I wandered over to the jewelry and found this:

So cute! And a compass! And half price. Sadly it's not on the NR site but they do have some other really nice Gorjana pieces. I'm a little bummed they didn't have this necklace in-store! I totally would've bought that. Gorjana necklaces stack well together so I was happy to find this little lapis baby to add to my collection.

I mentioned this yesterday, but Anthropologie has restocked my favorite winter candle - Balsam & Cedarwood. It's green, woodsy and a little spicy. And the container is so pretty! Its the perfect candle for those of us who can't handle the cloying pumpkin/vanilla scented stuff. It smells like fir trees and fall and is seasonal without being too obvious. I bought the little guy but I'll most likely go back for a bigger version when this one is done.

When my friend Kate came to visit we wandered into the Aesop store and tried a fancy liquid hand soap - like, they seriously have a sink in the store and encourage you to try the soap! It was really wonderful but too spendy for me. Kate texted me yesterday to tell me about this suspiciously similar hand soap at Target. I'm suggestible so I bought it immediately. It's a bit masculine but does smell expensive and complex. We shall see! While I was there, I also picked up my favorite Method body wash which had been out of stock for ages. Whew.

Finally, listen. I know I'm super fickle but I have a new favorite underwear brand. I'm still wearing my Eleanor & Bobbie stuff but it's starting to stretch out a bit and they haven't restocked in ages. So, I finally decided to give EBY a try. They have amazing fun prints and a soft flocked edge so they don't move or ride up AT ALL. It's kind of amazing. I've tried the seamless bikini style and the briefs and really like both, though I didn't care for the high waisted style - total granny panties and not in a cool way. And yes, I bought the tiger striped underwear and the leopard print because of course I did. If you want to try EBY, use my link for $10 off your first order. (Full disclosure: I get points towards purchases). I promise you won't hate them. (Okay, you might hate them but I'll bet you won't.)

*Thanks Katie!

Obligatory Prime Day Post.

I'm not proud of how much I buy on Amazon but it's been a godsend during the pandemic, so I think we should all just not worry about it right now. Because today is Prime Day, I thought I'd give y'all a list of my favorite Amazon purchases from year. Some of these things are Prime Day specials or are discounted, some of them aren't. I mean, who can even keep up with all that? Here's what I like:

Preview: Stuff I Bought From Athleta.

I'm going to post an outfit/review tomorrow (because today is already getting away from me) but I thought I'd give y'all a heads up on these excellent joggers that are on sale and which I bought:

They do run a tidge big (I bought my usual size and a size down and they both fit? So, go with your normal size for a bit of wiggle room, size down if you want a bit less volume.) The color is very Me and looks great with red, which is also very me. (They would also look great with this color and definitely with this tee. Ugh, Athleta. You got my number.) Anyway, more tomorrow!

Monday Mood: Stuff To Fill The Void.

Okay, like I mentioned last week, I've been making purchases to fill my sadness void (which is what retail therapy is, right?) and even though I know stuff doesn't equal happinesses, like, sometimes it helps? Anyway, I bought a few things last week that have legit given me some joy. First up:

Okay, don't judge me too harshly but I bought some knockoff EVA Birk sandals on Amazon because I keep walking out to the garden in my "nice" Birkenstocks and getting them dirty and wet. Why not some gardening clogs, I hear you say? Because...Crocs make me sad. Birkenstocks do not make me sad, so I got some Arizona-style sandals and I pretty much love them. When they die I'll replace them with real Birkenstock EVA sandals, but for $15 I thought I'd try out the cheaper version first. Note: they run TTS but I had to adjust the buckles to the smallest holes to fit me.

The other thing I bought was a new Kindle case because mine was getting really worn and looked gross. I wanted one with an easel, so I could read while I eat lunch, but I wasn't sure if that actually existed. Guess what, it totally exists! I bought this grey case but it comes in a ton of colors and fits my Paperwhite perfectly. It also has a stretchy handle for easier one-handed reading. It's a bit chunkier than my last case but no more than a paperback would be. Overall I am very pleased.

And since I'm talking about my Kindle, I thought I'd tell y'all what I'm reading. I had been reading Olive Kitteridge which is a big fucking bummer of a book so I am not going to recommend it unless you want to be really bummed out. Since I am already a passenger on the Big Bummer train, I decided to ditch it and check out some other books and settled on The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, which so far I really love. I like books about books and also fantasy-type adventures, so this one is exactly what I want to read right now.

Okay, finally, I promised to report back on the Athleta Everyday mask pack and you guys were right - they are so good! The are well-made, comfortable and adjustable, and I love that the color range is basically all the same colors I tend to wear and my favorite is the camo mask, which I'm wearing above. They are perpetually back-ordered but mine came sooner than expected, so don't let that deter you. Has anyone tried the Made to Move masks? The reviews aren't great but I'm curious.

Tuesday Mood - I'm Back, Y'all.

Hi guys, I'm back. I have had some really sad life stuff going on and needed to check out for a while. (Plus, I was running out of stuff to post about, so the break was definitely needed.) Anyway, as I usually do when things are bad, I buy stuff to fill my sad hole and then I'm like, why didn't that work? I mean, sometimes it works, so worth a shot. Here's what i've bought lately:

I have pretty much only been carrying my Lo & Sons Pearl bag since I bought it back in the spring and I finally caved and got a cute snake charm as well because, hello, 40% off everything + extra 10% off with code SUMMERTIME. Now is the time for snake charm keychains! It arrived last week and it's REALLY CUTE. I dig it. I am also eyeing the grey saffiano leather Pearl because it's definitely something I DO NOT NEED. AT ALL.

I also bought this beautiful labradorite pendant necklace from Twist Style, my friend Maryellen's jewelry business. Like all her work, it's beautiful and lightweight and basically perfect.

In an attempt to avoid underwire whenever possible I bought this Yin bra from Athleta. It's on sale (in the mint color) and available for D/DD, so I decided to give it a shot. I like it! The band is good and sturdy and the back is pretty minimal, but it still has reasonably good support for yoga or non-bouncy workouts. Plus, it's cute, right?

Marianne bought a really good dress from Gap Factory, because of course she did. She got the tie-dye version above but it also comes in three solid colors. It's simple, pretty, and flows really nicely. A good around-the-house summer dress!

Now, for some Mask Talk. Those Target masks I posted about recently are good until they aren't, right? (They're $2 each for a reason.) I decided to try some nicer masks and ordered this set from Athleta. They haven't arrived yet but I'll definitely report back. Marianne also ordered a really pretty indigo dyed mask she loves from Bramble Workshop on Etsy. Not only is it pretty, it fits her extremely well and, in her words, "It's the only mask I can stand." Heh.

That's all I've got for today! Hope y'all are having a good week and if there's a mask you truly love, please leave a comment and tell us about it.

We Discuss: The Long Con.

Def won't make you go blind.

A: I think you've finally convinced me that I can't go another day without GrandeLash

M: I am extremely excited to have you on board

A: I guess I'll start with the travel size?

M: Ulta has an even mini-er version along with the mascara which I know nothing about

A: Since you finally convinced me, can you give me a mini review for the blog?

A: Related: It’s really hard to take eye lash pics

M: Yeah it’s hard! Try looking down or up and to the side

M: Why I love GrandeLash: I have tried other, more expensive lash serums like Latisse (SO EXPENSIVE WHY) and Rodan and Fields (works, but still pricey and an MLM), and for me GrandeLash was the clear winner. I like the skinny brush applicator, it makes it easy to apply to the lash line only. A tube lasts for months and the stuff just works. It’s less irritating than the other serums I’ve tried as well (but will sting if you get it in your eyes, just like...anything). And it works! Get you some.

A: ALSO, IT WON’T MAKE YOU GO BLIND

A: ...OR WILL IT

M: This is an elaborate trap

A: I figured this was your endgame

M: Finally, Adrien will be blind

A: I knew it

M: It was a really long con

A: Well played

M: I mean my god, the better part of 20 years

A: You really do have it out for my eyesight

A: That takes commitment

M: Everyone has their hobbies

A: You just made me snort-laugh in the grocery store

M: My work here is done

A: But, like, thanks for making me your hobby!

Shopping Report: A Few Things I've Bought Lately That Are Good.

Retail therapy is so, so real with me lately. Sometimes getting a package is just the thing to bring a little joy into a not-so-great day. I've bought a few things lately that I'm pleased with and I thought I'd tell you about them.

Okay, these shorts:

They're from the Gap and they don't have a ton of sizes left but they are solid. They're not, like, life-changing but that's asking a lot from denim cut-offs. They're cute, fit well, they have a long enough inseam so I don't have to keep tugging them down (the WORST.) They best part: they're not very expensive. Also, they're true to size.

Out of sheer desperation I also bought this pair full-price (though a similar style is on sale here and make sure you click on 'see all sizes' because they hide them!) This goes against everything I believe in but I was mad that everything I liked had sold out in my size:

These are Joe's Jeans Bermuda shorts and they're also good! But so expensive for what they are. I mean, yes, I'd spend that much on a pair of jeans and I live in cut-offs during the summer but I don't know. I haven't taken the tags off and will probably send them back. Maybe. We'll see. PS. I sized up on these. Zappos also has them.

Remember my post about Outdoor Voices? I caved and bought the Apex bra:

Ugh. Y'all. I am actually mad that I like this so much. I don't want to like it so much but it's GOOD. The fabric is very high quality, it's got a thick, supportive band, and it's comfortable! I love the higher neckline too - great for yoga, especially when you're upside down, because you might think things are where they should be, but they probably aren't. I'm just saying.

Finally, when I'm feeling crummy, I've found that buying something from a friend is the best:

My friend Maryellen makes beautiful jewelry and posted this necklace up on her Instagram. I am a sucker for labradorite so I bought one (which I'll wear soon in an outfit post!) She also has a great Etsy shop full of similar designs. The longer necklaces are the best because you can double them up and wear short or long and the button fastener becomes part of the design. Best.

Stuff I Like: Summer Foot.

Hey y'all, Marianne here. Like most of us, I'm stuck at home, can't get a pedicure, and my feet were looking one step away from hooves. This is what found me browsing Amazon late at night, meticulously reading reviews (and borderline gagging at pics) for foot peels. Everyone knows Baby Foot at this point, right? I started there, but at the time shipping times were seriously delayed and I needed to shove my foot in a bag of goo ASAP. Enter Summer Foot.

It had good reviews and could be here in 3 days, so I one clicked that with a quickness. The box arrived and it was your typical bag full of goo that you tape around your feet. I took the advice of the reviews and soaked my feet in hot water before and they slid them in. Cold! Gooey! I was surprised that it said to leave them in for 1-2 hours, and cursed myself for starting so late. I made it 1.5 hours.

A lot of the reviews said to continue to soak your feet every other day and YOU GUYS. I am giving a HUGE TRIGGER WARNING for this next image. If you are grossed out by peeling skin, AVERT YOUR EYES. Also apologies for the quality, it's a screenshot from Marco Polo because this is how we are making our own fun.

I know! That is the entire bottom of one of my feet! So gross and SO satisfying!

I was going to show you an "after" photo of my feet here, but last time I did that I feel like I ended up on a foot fetish website somewhere. You'll have to trust me that they are smooth, soft, and pink and look better than they EVER do after a manicure. I am ordering another peel just to keep on hand because this stuff is the business.

The End.

We Discuss: Hunger Pangs and Overalls.

A: God, the rain. THE RAIN.

M: God save us all

A: I am real over it

M: It is truly my most hated kind of weather

M: HOW can people possibly like winter?

A: I think they have some romantic notion of winter where it’s always pretty and snowing but they don’t have to clean their car off or drive anywhere.

M: right

M: Like a hallmark movie

A: Yep

A: They forget about the endless, bleak rain

M: It’s truly relentless

M: Your drive is going to be so miserable, I’m sorry

A: Eh, what can you do

A: Might get barbecue for lunch, IDK

M: Ugh I literally read that and my stomach was like OH RIGHT

A: I am so hungry. Some jerk left a stack of McDonald’s apple pies in the break room.

M: HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT!

A: THANK YOU RIGHT

A: I hissed at them like Gollum

M: Rude as hell

A: They are calling me, like greasy little sirens.

M: They are only good when hot and fresh and even then they are only okay

M: (I would crush one)

A: Agree

A: (Same)

***

A: Your Current/Elliott overalls are apparently the same pair that Frankie wears on Grace & Frankie!

A: Hers are a light wash though:

M: DAMMIT

A: I love Frankie!

M: Me toooo

A: Oh, okay. I thought you were mad

A: This just makes you want them more

M: Yes that is what’s happening

M: I’m feel like I’m slowly breaking you down on overalls. Like you’ll never wear them yourself but you’ll find yourself liking them somehow

A: I will never wear them but I'll admit they’re really cute on you

A: And also on Frankie

M: Haha thank you

M: I mean it makes sense because I feel like her aesthetic is basically mine in 20 years

M: Or mine now

A: Yes, you are definitely more Fashion though

M: I think over time I will fully embrace my inner pottery teacher

A: Are you going to buy a pair?

M: I will rent them again, stalk Poshmark, and continue my search for a cheaper pair

A: Good thought process

M: Skinny jeans 😒:

M: I like how rigid they are, the length is fine, but that’s not a skinny leg

A: Are those Everlane?

M: Yeah. No good. For me at least.

A: Bad Boyfriend

M: It is really hard to find skinny jeans that fit a big butt and skinny calves

M: I want those Target green pants in jean form

A: Madewell tencel jeans, girl

M: I am skeptical but maybe while you’re here we can try

M: It’s hard to have a size 14 ass and size 6 calves (recs welcome, y'all!)

A: Yeah, that is tough

***

M: My Madewell tiger stripe skirt from RTR:

M: Wearing today with tights but I think it’s cuter with bare legs

A: Love it! That is SO cute on you.

M: $68 on sale. I may just have to buy it.

M: I mean I just got an eBay check for the exact amount of the skirt on sale...it’s a sign right

A: eBay check?

A: But yes! It's a sign.

M: It’s still in stores, I don’t see it on posh yet

A: What is an eBay check

M: Ebates sorry

A: OH. Okay.

A: I was like, are you my mother

M: ðŸ˜‚

Review: Madewell High-Rise Denim Shorts.

Hi all! I don't really have any good shopping to report but I did get my Madewell High-Rise Denim Shorts in Glenoaks wash and took some pics. I have...feelings. I like so much about them but I'm not 100%. I think I just had really high expectations and, as Marianne texted, "I don't think they are magical but also don't know if that exists." EXACTLY. I was putting a lot of weight on a pair of damn denim shorts. Anyway, here you go:

The shorts arrived with the hem rolled which makes them just a little bit shorter than I prefer. It's a lot of rise and not quite enough inseam. But! They are quite nice in general - good denim and an excellent wash. I rolled them down and even though they aren't quite as cute that way, I'm much more comfortable:

I will admit I was wrong about avoiding the higher rise shorts. The rise looks super current and the magic pockets really do pull everything in, which I very much appreciate. They're also quite booty flattering:

Most denim cut-offs don't do much for the rear view, but these are pretty good! Unfortunately these particular shorts are not on sale right this second so I'd wait until they're marked down again. In the meantime, this pair is on sale (and an extra 20% off) and so is this cute embroidered pair. And my favorite jeans as well!

So, I think I'm keeping them. They're a solid, if not terribly exciting, summer staple and I'm sure I'll be wearing them for quite a few summers.

And, because I can't not tell you about everything, my Bowie tee is by Lucky Brand and appears to be sold out. This one is very similar and REAL CUTE. (How many Bowie tees is too many? Asking for a friend.) Lucky Brand always has good vintage-inspired band tees that aren't too expensive or too OOT. Finally, I'm wearing my white Birkenstock Arizonas because they go with all the things. The end!

Stuff I Bought: A Few Online Orders.

I bought a few things online! What a surprise! I should probably wait until I can actually review these things properly but whatever, I want to tell you about them anyway.

Marianne has been going on and on about the amazing Madewell Whisper tee and I had to know so I ordered one (along with the next item which has not yet arrived.) Anyway, I got this one:

It showed up on Saturday and I put it on and wore it the rest of the weekend. Marianne is (as usual) right about this one - it's thin and drapey without being transparent, has a good v-neck that's deep but not wide, and a vented hem which makes doing a half-tuck easier. And best of all,  it's not expensive! The color I got is $9.99 right now but even full price it's under $20. I am hoping to buy a few more to get me through the summer. Obviously you can get them at Madewell but Nordstrom also has some colors and Shopbop has black, white and grey.

The part of my order that hasn't shipped yet:

Oh yeah! I wore out my last pair of leopard calf hair flats from Madewell so I snapped this pair up during the most recent sale. I just don't feel complete without a classic pair of tan and black leopard flats. They were slightly backordered but I should have them later this week.

Also, about to arrive from the Gap:

Yep, I posted about these last week and they're now 40% off with code APRIL. I ordered both pairs with the intention of keeping one. (Or both if they're amazing. Or none if they suck.) I will review them soon, good or bad. Fingers crossed! What have you ordered recently?

Stuff I Bought: A Few Shopping Updates.

Hello! Thank you all so much for your bra-related recommendations last week. There were too many for me to try but I do appreciate all of you for your help. I returned the offending Soma bras and took myself to a nearby Dillards last week and lucked out with a great bra sales lady who listened to what I wanted and found it for me. I had been pretty loyal to Natori bras because they are comfortable without being mumsy but the ones I had were (thanks recent weight gain) a bit too small and also worn out. She recommended a different Natori style in a size that actually fit correctly and I am really happy with it:

It's a good one! A really good underwire t-shirt bra (which is mostly what I wear) that's crazy comfortable and comes in some fun colors (a few of which are on sale here.) Also the straps are pretty, which I like. I also bought this Wacoal model:

It's good looking and gives everything a little oomph, though I'll admit it's not Natori-level comfortable. It is, however, very pretty. Everyone needs one of those.

NOW. You know how annoying it is when a friend asks for an opinion and you give her one and then she totally disregards it? Isn't that annoying? I agree. But, listen, I'm about to do that to you and I don't want you to be mad. Last week I posted this on IG asking for opinions and then ended up buying the pair that nobody chose. But here's why:

(Sorry about the duckface.)

The Wayfarer Meteor. They are rad, y'all. I dragged Kate to the mall and tried all the different styles on for her and these were the ones that made her and the salesperson say, "YES. THOSE." They also felt the best on my face. I loved the Wayfarer II style so much but they looked wide on me and slid down my nose. Marianne's beloved Erika style are, sadly, too round for my already round face and I already have aviators that I love. Anyway, I went for the Ray-Ban Meteor and they are FUN and totally make me feel like a rockstar fashion person, you know? Sorry for not taking your advice, Internet friends. Don't be mad.

Stuff I Like/Don't Like: A Few Recent Purchases.

Hi all! I've bought a few things lately, some good, some disappointing. Want to hear about them? OF COURSE YOU DO. (And if you don't, maybe just lie to me. Cool cool cool.)

These awesome socks are awesome.
I love a really good pair of socks (sorry, Marianne) especially for exercise endeavors. I hate cheap socks with their stupid seams and slippy ways and have been very happy with my Bombas. I strayed, however, and bought a pair of Balega socks after reading this review on one of my favorite new IG accounts. I am really impressionable, sure, but I was at a running store getting fitted for shoes and saw them hanging there and was like, yep, I'll take a pair of these too. They are so GOOD. Soft, huggy, just the right amount of padding and they don't budge. I don't know that I'm looking to replace my Bombas, but they definitely have competition.

This drugstore mascara is good!
L’Oréal Unlimited mascara was a Marianne suggestion and I gotta say, it's good stuff. I love the funky bottle and the bendy wand and I'll admit I wanted it more when I found out it used to only be available in France. Shut up. Anyway, it's not holy grail for me but it is a very nice lengthening mascara and holds curl, which is key. Also, I am trying to be cool about the fact that my beloved Fairydrops mascara IS TOTALLY GONE FROM THE WORLD. What has happened? Did the factory burn down? Halp.

And one that disappointed me.
Marianne loves Thrive Causemetics mascara so I bought it hoping it would give me her long fluttery lashes. Alas, on me it's clumpy and heavy, ruining all my curling work. BOO. I think this is one for folks who already have long lashes which would not be me.

This bra is stupid.
You guys, my bra situation right now is SUPER TRAGIC. I am wearing the same three sad Natori bras that I've had for a while and they are all stretched out and fall off my shoulders and I want to try something new. I went to Soma to get fitted because I thought maybe it was time to get a real grown-ass lady bra or two. But listen, they get you in there and they measure you and then throw, like, 30 bras at you and NONE of them fit your freak body and then finally one fits and you buy it even though it's mumsy and has three hooks in the back. It's like you have bra-related Stockholm Syndrome so you just buy it. Once you wear it IRL it makes you feel like the masthead of a ship (not good) and after the third wear it stretches out and starts falling down. OH MY GOD. So, all of this is to say that I do not like the Vanishing Back bra and I need recs. I've had one solid recommendation for Chantelle bras (maker of my favorite unders, which is coming up next) but I need a breather before getting fitted again.

PS. Best unders ever
Just a note that my super-favorite (but expensive) underwear is on sale in a few colors at Dillards. I buy more every time I find them on sale because I they are the best. They also have a plus size version with a color on sale as well.

It's time for new Birks!
As you might have seen on IG, I tried on a couple of different pairs of Birkenstocks a few weeks ago because they sell out super fast and every summer I hesistate and then have to hunt down the pair I want and who has time for that. I tried on the super-cute Yao sandal (with rose gold buckles!) and some white Arizona sandals because I'm tired of envying Marianne's pair. The Arizonas won because they are SO comfortable but I also recommend the Yao for extreme strappy cuteness. I definitely have a Birkenstock problem, you guys. Sorry/not sorry.
