Adrien: Recycling.

Marianne and I both follow a practice we call "recycling." It's where you sell stuff to buy something new, usually something a bit nicer than what you sold. So, my most recent recycling project goes like this:

Sold:

  • Marc Jacobs bag
  • Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch
  • March by Marc Jacobs coin purse
  • Anthropologie dress
  • Anthropologie necklace
  • Lululemon leggings

Bought:

One (seriously ridiculously awesome) "vintage" (does 1994 count as vintage?) Louis Vuitton epi Speedy. It was waiting for me when I got back from Knoxville:

Ooohhh...

Yay! It is in amazing condition - practically brand new! The original owner took good care of her stuff.  I'm pretty happy with this recycle - it feels good to get rid of six items I wasn't using and replace them with one thing I really, really wanted.

  1. SO worth selling all of that "meh' stuff for one fabulous thing, right?! And I cannot believe it is in such perfect condition, having seen it with my own eyes. Score!

  2. I'm so glad you got it! It's perfect. I love the 'Recycling' concept. I might have to steal that one next time I start drooling over something fabulous.

  3. GAH I love this. I have coveted an epi Speedy for so long. Can't wait to see what you wear with it!

Re: recycling. I also do this. Actually my first major bag purchase was funded with money from my selling off some rarer punk records. I really need to list more things because I have slacked lately. I need someone to come over and help me pick which things to sell though.
